I don’t know, I don’t use social media. What I do know is that for some people,
it’s difficult to get to the truth. For instance, I’ve heard people complaining about
ICE arresting US citizens, but when I do a little digging I find out there’s more to
the story than what the media wants us to know. The US citizens that have been
arrested were hitting and punching ICE agents, and they were arrested for
assaulting a federal officer. Another story was about ICE kicking in doors and
entering homes without a warrant. Well, it turns out somebody in those homes
was shooting at ICE, so they didn’t need a warrant.
It has always been my understanding that if the police believe a felony is being
committed they do not need a warrant, provided specific exigent circumstances
exist that require immediate action to protect life, to prevent the destruction of
evidence, or are in hot pursuit.
Then there is the story about a five-year-old boy being arrested. In that incidence,
ICE was after the boy’s father who is in the country illegally and when ICE
approached him, the boy’s father ran away. Ice took custody of the boy and
turned him over to child protective services.
People have to get smart and learn not to believe everything they are being told
by the media. And that goes for both, the liberal media, and the conservative
media. They will always take a story out of context, leave out important details,
and spin it to their advantage. However, I do believe the liberal media is the
worst of the two.
i appreciate your comments Dawg…there more accurate then most media reporting.
…. Its amazing how quick people will believe these media outlets even when they know their method’s ………have has been corrupted by sensationalism, attention grabbing, and self-serving techniques,
…..rather then accuracy. Do you think there is any way that could be corrected in a meaningful way?
I don’t… and if i did i fear it would be like spitting in the grand canyon.

More informed, obviously to the people who can effectively rule out fake news and AI. It’s harder than not for a lot of people who are too hard headed in believing the man behind the curtain. The reactions are just a consequence of having the curtains lifted. There’s a lot of evil in this world whether you choose to ignore it or not. It’s really sad to realize 1/2 the American population can be so cruel, unjust, insensitive and so hypocritical. I feel like George Washington would be flippin in his grave to see the current administration. It’s sad.
@ Ddd, “cruel, unjust, insensitive and so hypocritical” describes the Left’s policies of protecting illegal aliens who rape, murder, molest children, push drugs, and traffic in human beings.
Sorry Ddd I do not believe it is half the population, it is only the screamers. This is no different then when your dad reigned in the chaos at home….. it was out of control and then order was being restored… but “we” are adults now and believe we are grown up and are convinced we don’t have to obey anymore. Yes we do! the law is the law and if we feel it is unjust then we need to change the law not rail against it. I get what you are saying but I do not believe it is as bad as the crappy fake news says it is “if it bleeds it leads”. I like to believe we are sensible people and can determine what is right and wrong and filter out the bu!!s#it the media displays. I think Daddy is home and people are having a hard time adjusting.

Certainly has increased level of being informed, unfortunately a fair amount false/biased (though newsrooms from Cronkite to F. Chuck Todd have been tilting their “news” (lies) in a certain direction). This is on both sides but it is predominately on a certain side. Has it has made people more reactive, since any idiot (yours truly included) can post their opinions (of course, mine are stellar and beyond incredible-note the idiot statement 16 words before)? I’d say it increases the reactivity of scribes. As far as actual reactivity by “protesters” the switch from teaching science, reading and mathematics to “community activism” social grievances has created a new large population of useful idiots (attributed to Vladimir Lenin) out on the street. So I guess reactivity has increased.

I think both. But one of the big issues with social media is people are more concerned about being ‘first’ to post vs ensuring what they are posting is ‘accurate.’

Both – the problem is the mis-information and how it is manipulated by the media – and individuals.
Correct. Both!
