The Dollar Tree, located at 2318 Monument Blvd in Pleasant Hill (near Dick’s), has reopened after a closure due to a rodent infestation, according to the Contra Costa County Environmental Health Department. Inspectors say they found the following:
- One bag of chips observed to be ripped open underneath a shelf above the sliding door beverage refrigerator in
the middle of the store underneath the “Snack Zone”. Observed broken shells of peanuts around the bag as well. - Another bag of Chester’s Cheetos observed with a rip in the front of the bag.
- Observed rodent dropping and peanut shells next to a bag of Snyder pretzels.
- Observed bags of rice and beans with gnaw marks.
- Observed broken and eaten shells of peanuts on the bottom shelf of the “Snack Zone”
- Old rodent droppings observed by the back double doors (leading the back alleyway between buildings) near the manager’s office. Back door also observed with a large gap in between the doors with no rodent traps or sticky traps.
- Observed a combination of 26 sticky traps, bait boxes, snap traps, and cardboard bait boxes scattered throughout the facility, mainly in the food aisles.
- Detected a musty odor from the electrical room with several sticky traps.
- Bag of chips located above the beverage refrigerator in the middle “Snack Zone” aisle observed to be ripped open and with bite/claw marks. Chester Cheeto’s bag observed with a rip in the front.
Inspectors decided to check-out the Dollar Tree after a complaint came in from a customer saying they saw a rat running in one of the aisles.
The people they hire are not very brighth. They never answer the phone, so you have to make a trip to find out they are out of items. Hard to find anything for a dollar there anymore..
What stores does that anymore? 🤷🏻♀️
The little rascals were having a party!
