CPT Obvious,
.
While Minnesota, or any other state, can’t make the decision to unilaterally secede from the Union, Congress can pass a bill, along with the signature of the President, or Congress overriding a presidential veto can allow a state to secede.
Yes. They murdered Alex Pretti on Saturday no question. He had a legal carry permit and broke no laws. They removed his gun from his holster and another agent shot him about 1 second later in the back. He was unarmed and it’s on video clear as day. Leading up to that he was beaten and pepper sprayed by agents for protecting a female protester. I firmly believe in the 1st and 2nd amendments so this is completely unacceptable.
Arrest for what? Did we watch the same video? Protesters were just blowing whistles in the street and an ICE agent walks up to the women and proceeds to push them on the ground. Not detaining them – pushing them to the ground. Pretti attempts to break it up (as most men would when another man assaults a woman) and then gets pepper sprayed and shot seconds later. Nothing illegal happened here.
The video I saw, he was walking up to an officer with the camera at him. I do not know what was going on behind the officer, that was not shown (at least I didn’t see it). I observed the officer pushing a number of protesters away, as has to be done. There seems to be a break in the filming from when they were pepper spraying and when he was wrestling 4 officers. First question, if the officer tells you to back up, you back up. They are not there to direct traffic. I was unable to tell what went down in the scrum, what was said, what the officers saw (did the officer see the gun, not see it taken away but saw Pretti’s arm going for it? I don’t know, and neither do you. Pretti was a fool (yes, a fool) for putting himself smack dab in the middle of a highly volatile situation. Clearly interfering with law enforcement activities, yes he broke laws doing that. It is a sad shame he got himself shot.
There is extremely clear footage of what happened. They took the gun and then shot him to death from behind. I don’t know how anyone could possibly justify that. If any regular person disarmed someone on the street and then shot them to death from behind that would absolutely be charged with murder.
Well Jim, there may be clear footage I did not see. I’d lay odds the footage you say is clear does not show what the 4 officers in the fray saw, their perspective. These are not “regular” people, nor was Pretti “on the street.” He foolishly inserted himself into a situation he shouldn’t have. There were law enforcement activities ongoing. Just because he didn’t agree with it does not mean it is ok for him to impede these activities. It is unfortunate he got shot. It is unfortunate he put himself into that circumstance that led to his demise.
He may have had a concealed weapons permit, but he in no way followed the law. You are required to have that permit physically on your person whenever carrying a concealed permit. And, when contacted by law enforcement, you must IMMEDIATELY declare that you have a CCW and are carrying a loaded firearm. Neither of which he did. Carrying a concealed weapon carries a great amount of responsibility and good decision-making. Bringing a loaded firearm to a situation where he intends to get in the way of a law enforcement action (sticking a camera in the face of officers and pulling someone away from an officer would fit this category) was just plain stupid. While it remains to be seen if the ICE/CBP officer was correct in firing his weapon (there is no video out there yet that shows conclusive proof either way), it’s unfortunate that he lost his life. However, he purposely put himself in that dangerous position by making some very poor decisions.
Seems it was pretty easy to follow. I was simply stating that the left keeps saying he was a law-abiding person with a concealed weapons permit, which was untrue.
Legal carry permit means very little here. You cannot simply carry anywhere you please, e.g. you can’t carry concealed in places where alcohol is consumed or schools. Common sense dictates keep the firearm well away at home if you’re gonna participate in a hot situation with law enforcement. This guy made a very stupid decision and paid the price. How did this idiot expect this to go ok is beyond me, especially when getting in face of ICE.
Most conservatives would disagree with you. He was fully within his 2nd amendment rights and within the legal bounds of his carry permit. Kyle Rittenhouse brought an AR-15 to a protest and is loved by the Republican Party for that.
No Jim. He wasn’t within the legal bounds of his permit. That’s what I was saying in my post above that you seemed to have difficulty understanding. I am very pro-2A, but, like it or not, there are limits and restrictions put on CCW holders. And no, Kyle Rittenhouse was an idiot for bringing the AR-15 to the protest. But at least he knew enough to raise his hands and declare he had it. This knucklehead fights with law enforcement. There is an obvious difference here.

Only after their job is completed. The sooner local and state officials decide to
work with the feds, the sooner their job will be completed. Trump spoke with
Gov. Walz on the phone about working together. Trump is asking him to turn
over all illegals currently incarcerated, in addition to illegals with active warrants
or known criminal histories, and he is sending Tom Homan to Minneapolis to
oversee the operation. The violence and killing would have been prevented if
Walz and Frey never had encouraged anti-ICE agitators in the first place.
Washington DC is a liberal run city who cooperated with the feds and crime
was reduced significantly. Other major cities that cooperated with ICE saw the
same results.

No, Min is only responsible for 2% of immigration action yet yields all the noise. ICE did not come here to create disorder, it came because of disorder. These stupid people are organized and will create chaos no matter what. This can only lead to an escalation as they (ICE) cannot leave as it would empower all these lunatics to to push harder against anything they did not like “picking the laws you want to follow”. This is civil suicide, the end of civilization. Could you imagine everyone simply choosing the laws they want to follow? Some might think it is cool until the gangs took over (they have more firepower than you) and you were nothing but slaves to it. Fall of Rome
No I do not. But, if they are, pull them out loudly, letting each and every individual ICE has been arresting/sending back know as clearly as possible, that sanctuary city Minneapolis no longer will have ICE, or any federal agents on the ground there, at the request of walz and frey and MN media. Could even ask the somali fraud syndicate to put out a statement, I am sure omar would like to claim some credit if ICE left.

If the state of Minnesota ( and all states for that matter) did a better job of abiding and adhering to laws and policy its very likely ICE would never have even been there, thus no protest, thus no one loses their life. Protesting should never be a death sentence, but pulling law enforcement out is like closing the freeway because of a couple of speeders

What I think doesn’t matter. However, if they choose to remove ICE agents, they should replace them with an equal number of IRS agents to perform a statewide audit.
No, such an action would signal that the federal government has surrendered its constitutional duty to defend the nation. A government that cannot or will not its enforce laws to secure its borders and deport trespassing foreigner nationals fatally undermines the significance of the distinction between citizen and non citizen: for lack of coherant identity, the republic must cease.
The supremacy clause of the U.S. Constitution (Article VI, Clause II) makes clear that the federal government’s authority supercedes the state’s — first established in McCulloch vs Maryland. Lawful immigration means the process and conditions, determined by citizens, by which foreigners are allowed to enter into the sovereign nation of the USA and partake of its blessings. When a foreign national decides to enter into a country without legal permission he has commited illegal entry and violated the sovereignty of said country. To deny the federal government the authority to deport the foreign trespasser is to willfully undermine the foundational importance of sovereignty and the rule of law.
The non compliance and interferance of the “blue” states with federal law has a precedent: nullification. According to this doctrine, states are free to ignore federal law they deem unconstitutional. In response to a high tariff passed by Congress, South Carolina attempted nullification. President Jackson responded by rallying Congress to pass the Force Bill allowing him the use of federal troops to quell the sedition in the state of South Carolina. The Supreme Court has since ruled: nullification is a violation of the supremacy clause and therefore unconstitutional. Seeing nullification as ineffective, various southern states took the next logical step and seceded from the Union triggering the Civil War.
If blue states pursue nullification then the first response to rebellion must be to immediately cut off all federal funds to the rogue state. If blue states are permitted to wantonly flout federal law with impugnity they will, sooner or later, be emboldened to do so in what ever instance they wish. This must eventually result in their secession. If this is the goal, than let them say it openly. But to take from the public treasury in Washington and then pick which federal laws to follow and which to ignore makes a grotesque mockery of our republic. The long suffering patience of the silent majority is near its end.

Anyone who supports the unconstitutional military occupation of American cities, under any administration, is a fool. Trump is exploiting the immigration crisis to expand executive power and label any domestic opposition to that power as domestic terrorism to justify violation of civil rights up to and including taking away your life by mob cop execution without proof or due process. All while Congress intentionally looks the other way. Trump supporters are even foolish enough to defend Trump’s statements that the 2nd Amendment should be eroded just because they think it means they are “owning the libs.” Don’t think for a minute that every administration following won’t use the same tactics on you if you exercise your constitutional rights to oppose their policies and address grievances. And, speaking of in your face fraud and corruption – Trump is placing all money brought in from his was crime of kidnapping Maduro in Venezuela into PRIVATE accounts Qatar (not the US) for the benefit of his private companies. Taxpayers paid millions of dollars for an illegal military operation that funneled money only to Trump’s private pocketbook. All while medical bills are the number one form of bankruptcy in the US – US citizens get zero from their taxpayer money while supporting the encroachment of current and future fascist regimes.
Let me help you with the question, I think it is worded poorly: Should Minnesota be allowed to succeed from the union?
