Hard to exclude Sonoma from the Bay Area since the county has coastline in San Pablo Bay from Black Point/Green Point all the way to the Sonoma River Bridge off HWY 37.
I guess Solano County in not part of the 9 Bay Area Counties either since it too has coastline in San Pablo Bay?
Concord because: 1) open the open space 2) it is close to two Walmart and 3) I can drive to Clayton to feel the country vibe.

Once upon a time it was San Francisco, but not anymore. The Embarcadero
and downtown has been so overbuilt that it lost its charm. Crime is rampant,
Fisherman’s Wharf is boarded up, and local officials have lost their minds.
Alameda, Benicia, and Danville are nice. I also like Tiburon and Belvedere,
Fisherman’s Wharf is not boarded up. That entire area is thriving. They have cops on walking beat walking around. The people who post so often about anti-San Francisco are usually the ones who never go there , or if they do, they go to a tourist trap like Pier 39 and expect it to the surgically clean.
Thanks for the info Mike, it’s been a while since I’ve been to the City, and
when I was there I saw quite a few restaurants on the Wharf that were
closed and boarded up. Alioto’s, Fisherman’s Grotto No 9, Tarantino’s,
Pompei’s Grotto, and Lou’s Fish Shack, were all closed. By the way,
I am not anti San Francisco, I was born and raised there. I grew up in
the Bay View and Portola Districts when they were mostly Italians and
Maltese, and I went to Mission High School.
It is a great place. It has its issues but it is one of the most beautiful places on Earth. There is no feeling quite like driving over the Bay Bridge and seeing Alcatraz, the Golden Gate Bridge… when I visit family in the mid west, I am reminded of how lucky we are to live in the Bay. Is it perfect? heck no. but , we have the best backyard… nature… bay… etc.
This is hilarious, downvotes, and makes my point! All I said was that you need to be aware of your surroundings no matter where you go. Sorry but there is no “rest” anymore, this is noy political nless you want to comment about those running this state that pass laws that they know to be unconstitutional.

Bodega Bay – hmmmmm about 25 yrs ago.
That would be in Sonoma county and not the bay area.
The Bay Area consists of nine counties:
Sorry but Sonoma is not remotely in the bay area don’t care what you post

Concord! Although it can benefit from having a Target near the BART station, an In-N-Out near the Pavilion, and a 24 Hour Fitness on Clayton Rd.
