A fire that displaced eight residents at a Concord condominium complex Wednesday afternoon was apparently caused by a candle, according to a Contra Costa County Fire Protection District spokesperson. The fire was reported at about 1:20 p.m. at 1740 Sapling Court, located near Concord High School. The fire was put out by shortly before 2 p.m., and the cause of the fire was determined to be a candle in one of the units, according to fire district spokesperson Lauren Ono.
Thanks to Chris Rossi for the photo from the scene.
Looking forward to Concord city council’s mental giants, too outlaw candle burning.
or…it will be ABAG saying it is a big reason for Spare the Air Days
Government needs to ban the sale of candles to prevent these tragedies. 🙂
