Contra Costa County Public Works has issued a permit to PG&E for a temporary closure of Morgan Territory Road between Finley Road and 7007 Morgan Territory Road on Thursday, February 5, 2026, barring unforeseen circumstances. The road will be closed to through traffic from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., weather permitting. Traffic control measures will be in place, and flaggers will be on site to allow intermittent access for local residents and emergency vehicles to maintain public safety.
The closure is required for PG&E to replace an existing utility pole as part of preparation work for the Marsh Creek Road Bridge Replacement Project at Morgan Territory Road (Post Mile 5.0). Advance warning signs will be posted at the intersections of Marsh Creek Road and Morgan Territory Road and near the Morgan Territory Staging Area. Once the work is complete, the roadway will reopen to normal traffic. The bridge replacement work will begin in May, and is expected to last about 95 days. The estimated cost of the project is $2.3 million.
At beginning of piece, had hope ‘preventive maintenance’ was again
being embraced.
