My first big vehicle purchase in my early 20s was a restored 1970 Cougar convertible (red with white top). I loved that car! Cruising down highway 280…

Nice car, was yours the XR-7 with the 351 Cleveland? I always liked the
sequential tail lights.

Yes! I sold it to a gentleman that came down from Eureka and kept asking me, “Are you sure you want to sell it?” I should’ve kept it…but in the six years I owned it, it only depreciated $300.

One of my hobbies since I was a teenager has been building hot rods
and fast cars, so I have owned somewhere in the neighborhood of 25
cars and trucks. Out of all of them I had three that I liked the most, one
was a 1969 Chevy Camaro, a 1972 Ford Gran Torino, and the other
was a 1971 Chevy pickup. Out of those three, the ’71 Chevy pickup was
my favorite. She was as tough as nails, I’d drive her anywhere, off-road,
through shallow rivers and streams, over bumps and rocks, and she never
quit on me. I even had a fifth wheel installed in the bed, and towed a 20-foot
long fifth wheel trailer with her, and she never overheated or burned any oil.

Hey Dawg ~
I once had a 69 Camaro, …. 3-speed on the floor.
And one of our friends had a SSRS, .. it was awesome.

1996 Cadillac Seville with a Northstar engine.

The interior was plush and roomy. Great stereo and dash layout. It felt like a luxury car when you sat down in it.
But it drove like a sportscar with it’s tight steering and cornering.
The Northstar was an incredible motor. Give it some gas and you’d drop two gears and get pushed into the driver’s seat. It really felt like driving a dragster.
Then the rings and oil pan seal gave out. It was burning/leaking at least a quart of oil every two weeks when I finally traded it in for a mini van.

My first car was a 1964 MG Midget, and it was my favorite until I figured out that I had no room to put my seabag. So, I traded it for my all-time favorite, a metallic green 1970 Barracuda. It loved eating the mountain roads between Nashville and Charleston, back before the Interstates were completed. I eventually had to trade it for something more family-friendly, but I do miss that car.

1970 Pontiac Le Mans Coupe 350 V-8
1995 Impala SS, first year they got it right and last year they made ’em.
What chevrolet calls an impala these days is a flat out INSULT to the
name, Impala
.
Simply put, if I floor it, I expect an immediate acceleration response.
Few years back borrowed my Daughters rice burner, found
myself between an 18 wheeler and a merging 1 ton towing a
trailer. Put my foot in it to get out of the problem and got NUTHIN !
Just a large puff of smoke out the tail pipe. Insisted car be taken to
dealership and completely gone thru, found nothing wrong.
.
Same situation and I put my foot down Impala SS will accelerate
smartly out of the problem every time.

2008 Mustang Bullitt, hands down. Collectors edition made for the 60th anniversary of the movie Bullitt.
Numbered, original Highland Green paint, 5-speed, zero to 60 in 5.2 seconds.
I still miss that beast.

Make that 40th anniversary…from the 60s. I’m in ’em, so don’t trust me with years…

My first car (16th birthday) was a ’74 Monte Carlo, and to this day it’s my favorite car. I still own it, and it’s fully restored. Love it!

My big, smooth, silent, super comfy Cadillac from the 60′ & 70’s. No car today can match the comfort. Great stereo too!

I am a fan of Subarus. I’ve had my Forester for 27 years which makes the smog test people angry because they can’t just plug into it. It is my 3rd Subaru. My first one was a wagon (to carry music gear) and was a manual transmission and drove like a sports car yet got great mileage. Of course Porsche designed the engine.

Easily the ’92 Buick Regal i got from my grandmother! Scraper on dubs haha.

My previous car got stolen during the day from Sunvalley Mall when I was working there circa 2003

1967 Mustang fastback with a built 390 GT that had every option – dang fast…. 1974 short Chevy van, custom pain, captains chairs shag carpet, the works, built 350 with oil & trans cooler, headers as well – pulled, boats, motorcycle trailers with bikes and camping gear inside, etc. it could go anywhere – never overheated …. wish I still had them both

domo…. do you know how much that Mustang is worth today?
You may not want to know.

I had a platonic friend who has a 1968 Mustang, which he often would let me drive. Loved it.

Favorite car was a 1971 240z(all original). Favorite vehicle I built is a 2001 Jeep Wrangler TJ with all the rock crawling goodies. I still own it and it only has 18k miles, mostly off road. Probably will keep it forever.

W211 Mercedes E63 AMG. Well over 500hp and such a fun car.

My favorite was my first. Bought a 1974 Chevy Impala from my neighbor for $200. Thing was a boat. A blast to drive. Quick off the line for a “family” car. Had to turn the wheel 5 rotations just to change lanes (slight exaggeration).

We bought a brand-new Jeep Cherokee Laredo in 1992.
‘Beast’ is a 5-speed and she still runs great, … 🙂
We get notes on the window in parking lots, … interested buyers.

’56 Chevy .

Jeff
Mine was similar, 1969 chevy bel air, paid 800.00 for it, the backseat was huge, came in real handy at the drive-ins

’67 Barracuda Formula S fastback, high performance 273 V8, 4 speed manual, quick ratio manual steering. Also, 2006 Mazda 3 Grand Touring, 2.3 liter, 5 speed manual, a little bit quicker acceleration than the Barracuda (about 1/2 second on 0-60), not sure about top end though, as I got the Barracuda to a true 132MPH (in Nevada when there were no speed limits) and I suspect the Mazda is good for around 125; it was rock solid at 95 and definitely had more left in it. Both of them fun to drive. Definitely shows the progress in automotive design in the 39 years between them. I think I need a Cayman………..

1998 Toyota Land Cruiser- 270k miles and still going strong. Big, heavy all wheel drive tank that has never let me down. The new LC’s have a 4 cylinder instead of the tried and true Toyota V8- big mistake!

My 1954 Triumph TR2.

Can someone please tell me how to post a photo from my cell phone to this CLAYCORD site??

I don’t think it is possible.

If you have a computer, you can transfer the picture from your phone to the
computer, and try dragging it to your comment on Claycord. I’m not sure if it
will work, but it’s worth a try.

Thanks Dawg!! Somehow I got it to work!! I’ve been wanting to share a photo for a long time!!

My 1982 BMW 528e, my ex-husband and I bought from the factory in Munich. We ordered it here and then picked it up at the factory. What a treat, they served us free lunch at their cafeteria, not sure if it was the cafeteria for all the workers or just executives, but it was very elaborated nothing like cafeteria in the US. When you buy a car overseas and drive it certain miles, by the time you ship it back to the states you save on taxes, because it is considered a used car. Since we were going to Denmark anyway to visit my family and we needed a new car it made sense, we also saved $5000.00 of the US sticker price. When I got divorced I got the car and drove it until 1991 or 2, don’t remember. My other favorite car was a car I never drove, it belonged to my boyfriend of 2 years back in Westport Ct, in 1968 it was a 1963 Corvette Stingray, dark green with a canvas top. Loved the car and the boyfriend.
Since my BMW I have had 2 Honda Civic’s and 3 Toyota Camry. Next to the BMW the Toyota is my favorite, it handles well, last a long time and few repairs.

My pride and joy!! 1956 F100. 21 Trophies in the 11 years I’ve owned it. Drive it ever (nice) day!
Thanks to DAWG for helping me post the photo!

My pride and joy is my 1956 award winning F100 hot rod that I drive every day around PH WC and MTZ S0 far I’ve got 23 trophies from various car shows in the east bay area. I bought it in 2010 from a guy that spent 10 years building it. He needed more$$ for a really fancy Nomad wagon and he sold it to me after I bugged him. I’ve made just a few changes. It has become my “alter ego”. Glad I could finally get a photo posted here on my favorite web site!
