The month of February is kicking off with higher gas prices across California. The statewide average for a gallon of regular gasoline rose 13 cents since last week to $4.39. That price is still 11 cents lower than this time last year.
The national average for a gallon of regular is up a couple of cents from last week at $2.89. Current prices remain below what they were this time last year when the national average was $3.12.
“Gasoline demand is down as fewer drivers hit the road during the recent winter storms. But this is the time of year when pump prices start nudging higher, as spring approaches and refineries start making the switch to summer-blend gasoline production,” said Doug Johnson, spokesperson, AAA Mountain West Group.
Fuel Prices Around the State:
San Francisco: $4.61
Oakland: $4.46
San Jose: $4.39
Sacramento: $4.37
Fresno: $4.31
Stockton: $4.25
According to new data from the Energy Information Administration (EIA), gasoline demand decreased last week from 8.75 million b/d to 8.15 million. Total domestic gasoline supply increased from 257.2 million barrels to 257.9 million. Gasoline production decreased last week, averaging 9.0 million barrels per day.
… no surprise … instead of 40% higher than the rest of the country it’s going back to the 47% higher …. another of Newsom’s campaign promises not kept – to bring CA’s gas prices in parity with the rest of the country tackling big oil …… not only costing us at the pump but taking BILLIONS of our tax dollars and wasting it on the high speed rail to nowhere…. AB1421 is being floated around in CA to extend the “study” of a mileage based tax on driving too – how many times to we see a tax “study” become reality – and I bet on top of the gas taxes we already pay
$4.89 in Pittsburg. Thats pretty high.
I bet it’s not $4.89 in Pittsburgh
I bet it is $4.89 in Pittsburgh
BDDP,
You’d lose that bet, but I cheated!
According to Gas Buddy, Sam’s Club in Pittsburgh is getting $2.629 per gallon.
Price rise, first of many . . . . . . . .
Wondering who newsom will blame this time ? ? ? ?
By now YOU should realize, IT’S NEVER HIS FAULT.

WELL, Well, well, last September newsom signed bills attempting a reduction
in electricity and fuel prices.Trying to keep votes for democrats in November elections.
View it as democrats, already panicked and frantically back pedaling without mirrors.

HE probably has a list ready, of who’s fault it will be,
and his name WON’T BE ON THE LIST.
These prices are a direct reflection of his governance or lack of it…this is and was deliberate.
Hey, folks, it’s Newsom’s plan.
Keep costs and taxes high, limit people’s freedoms.
Control the people, few freedoms, overwhelming oppression.
Control everyone who’s not a politician or uber-wealthy.
If this is all the plan, wouldn’t that mean that Newsom is actually an effective leader?
Depends on how you define effective, being an oily bag of excrement doesn’t qualify as “effective” in most people’s mind…right!?!
Thanks Newsom. You need to fight Trump better, LOL. You’d showed the world that CA will lead in the fight against fossil fuels, running drillers and refineries in the state out of town and importing crude from other countries. Thanks for playing it up to the donors/party and not taking care of the citizens in your state. Do something for us and drop the gas tax by $1 a gallon. You know, to support working families!
