Rain is expected to arrive in the Bay Area on today, bringing wet roads and steady showers that could last through midweek, forecasters said.
In a briefing, the National Weather Service said rain is likely to spread across much of Northern and Central California on Tuesday and continue through Wednesday, with a slight chance of lingering light rain into early Thursday. Rain is expected across regions including the North Bay, San Francisco, the Peninsula, the East Bay, South Bay, and Santa Cruz and Monterey counties. The heaviest and most consistent rainfall is forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday.
Forecasters described their confidence level as moderate, noting that the system is likely to bring “soaking rain,” rather than brief showers. Impacts are expected to include wet roads and slower travel during the middle of the week.
After the midweek system moves out, conditions may briefly improve before another wetter pattern sets up next weekend, potentially extending into early next week, according to the weather service, which advised residents to plan ahead for wet travel conditions during the busiest commute periods.

Forecasters? My 3 year old gave me a more believable forecast than the people on TV.
