Y’all have a special Valentine weekend.

Care to guess how many administrators in the MT Diablo Unified School District make over $200,000 per year? Around 85. Unbelievable, yes, and also sickening. But true.

Yea so what is the problem with that?

The literacy rate in the MDUSD is below 50%.
Is that acceptable? Not to me.
If 85 people can’t figure out a way to properly educate our children, such as achieving a 90% literacy rate, then all 85 people need to find one or two who can direct teachers on how to teach. MDUSD is an embarrassment to the taxpayers of Contra Costa County.

What is the literacy rate of students in the Mount Diablo School District in Contra Costa, California?
There isn’t a single published “literacy rate” figure for the entire Mount Diablo Unified School District (Contra Costa County, California) reported in government or educational sources (e.g., the percent of all students who can read at grade level). What is available are related academic achievement metrics, especially from statewide testing and proficiency data:

  • According to statewide CAASPP (Smarter Balanced) assessments for 2025, approximately 48.1% of MDUSD students met or exceeded the state standard in English Language Arts (reading/literacy)—meaning about half of the students are meeting grade-level expectations in English literacy on standardized tests.
  • Other reporting sites estimate that about 46% of students in the district are proficient in reading, based on state test score summaries.

Cooper, knows how to have FUNNN ! ! !

Why didn’t Cops just use the hook?

Permissive parents who believe their disruptive children’s antics are cute,
until they wander off into traffic and get hit by a car, or wander off into a
pool and drown. It’s always the same excuse, “I just looked away for a few
seconds.” If I ever shook my head no to my parents, they would
have made a strong impression on me to never do it again.
Standing around laughing at him only reinforces his self-centered behavior,
which can lead to impulsiveness and a lack of self-discipline.

And there it is… a complete synopsis of my childhood upbringing that explains the apathy and irresponsible behavior that are so prevalent in my so called adulthood.
But then again, who cares?

I care. Most of the adult decisions I’ve made in my life I find myself wondering if they’d meet your approval…

As long as those decisions made you happy for the moment…. they were the right choice as far as I’m concerned (and I’m not).

Why can’t we listen to the police scanner anymore!?and will we get it back?

The problem is that the criminals can also listen to the scanner and know when police have been dispatched to try to make an arrest. The head start the criminals get this way makes it more likely they will be able to get away.
