Three New York residents were arrested by the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office on suspicion of bank fraud, sheriff’s officials said.
Detectives with the Sheriff’s Office conducted a months-long investigation into a bank fraud scheme that targeted multiple banks across the Bay Area.
Investigators identified at least five people involved the alleged scheme who had traveled from New York to Sonoma County.
On Thursday, detectives carried out surveillance on the suspects as they allegedly tried to make more fraudulent withdrawals at several banks throughout the Bay Area. Three of them were arrested: Carleen McGeachie, 42, Richard Logan, 33, and Heaven Richards, 25.
A search warrant carried out at a Vacaville hotel connected to the suspects allegedly uncovered more than $15,000 in cash and evidence related to identity theft, such as fake IDs and credit cards.
All three suspects were booked into Sonoma County jail on suspicion of bank fraud, conspiracy, grand theft and identity theft. McGeachie and Richards are being held without bail.
Wow they could have just committed their felon in NY! So much time and effort to be a dreg on society…
I guess the thumbs down approve of criminality!?! Figures!!!
If they put that much effort into learning a trade and working for the money, they would have profited the same amount. But they emulate their mother, dad, cousins, and take the easy way out instead of building something that lasts.
If I was a career criminal I too would probably move to California, where they support and encourage criminals, and promote crime.
The Older of the two women was reported “Missing” several months ago by her husband and
family. I think there’s a really good chance this troupe has been active all across the country.
