BART Service Shut Down Between West Oakland & 24th Street Mission – No Service To San Francisco

BART service has shut down through the Transbay Tube and downtown San Francisco on Thursday morning because of an equipment problem on the tracks, and riders are advised to seek alternate transportation.

The transit agency issued an alert at 8:25 a.m. about the closure of service between the West Oakland and 24th Street Mission stations.

BART did not specify what the problem was on the tracks or when it is expected to be resolved.

It’s just not reliable… they were given $#B not to long ago to upgrade and refurbish their software, hardware, tracks, etc. and they want more $$ … just say NO! to the requested tax increase

How many times a month does BART fail? They are so backwards. Do japan or china rail fail
this much? All over asia, their subways and rail have these protective barriers (metal frame+plexiglass combo) and gates so you can’t fall or be purposely pushed onto the tracks.

Tony,
.
One has to begin to wonder if these “failures” resulting in service stops are planned, just so BART can send the message to the public that in needs money to continue operating without service interruptions. It reminds me of when the failed 2012 Central Contra Costa County Fire Protection District Parcel Tax was on the ballot, and in the lead up to the election our local fire trucks began using their sirens much more than they normally were. Many believed that siren use went up to send a message to the public so they’d vote for the parcel tax.

Their HIGH Kilo Volt underground cables are getting old
as is most of infrastructure. Sell bart, privately run.
Did they ever get urinal mints for escalators and elevators ?
