Papa Jake Statue committee needs immediate Sponsorships funds.
An important deadline is approaching to begin the artist work on the Papa Jake statue to meet an unveiling timeline in Martinez on D-Day, 2027.
“We have raised to date for the Papa Jake Larson statue $26,000. We are in immediate need for an additional $24,000 to provide a deposit to the artist so that she can get started,” said Brandy Leidgen, project coordinator. “ This deposit is for to start her work on the maquette and pay the foundry. We are in need getting the money out to her by March 1.”
Any dollar donation can help get to the for the additional $24,000. Donations are tax deductible through the Best Defense Foundation. There is still time to write off money for your 2025 taxes. (see a tax consultant for more details.)
There are many ways for individuals, small businesses, and corporations to be a partner and immortalized as a part of this monument.
“We have sponsorships for larger donations. Commemorative engraved bricks for only $200. We have $2,500 tiles and then larger sponsorships starting at $ 5,000. Donations of any amount are accepted.
The artist is Paula Slater, the same artist that sculpted the Don Pacheco statue at Todos Santos Park and is renowned for her sculptures across the country.
