A 40-year-old Pittsburg man has been arrested on suspicion of a fatal shooting in Bethel Island earlier this week, the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office said Thursday.
Clayton Dortzbach was arrested in connection with a shooting reported at 8:49 p.m. Monday in the 3200 block of Dutch Slough Road, where sheriff’s deputies arrived to find 38-year-old Martinez resident Edward Garofalo IV fatally shot.
Investigators identified Dortzbach as the shooting suspect and took him into custody at about 4:45 p.m. Wednesday in Concord, according to the Sheriff’s Office. He is being held in jail on $1 million bail.
