The community gathered at Heather Farm Park to celebrate a major milestone — the groundbreaking for the new Aquatic and Community Center. Funded largely by Measure O, the voter-approved sales tax measure passed in 2022, the new facility will replace aging centers with updated amenities designed to serve the community for decades to come. City officials say the project represents a shared investment in high-quality recreation and gathering spaces for Walnut Creek residents.
All those trees and the venue n the picture look beautiful. Nice to see the investment to replace the old facility.
… you mean all the 100s of established pine, oak, redwood, etc. cut down? There had to be a way to design it to save them for $77M
Not too sure why someone would disagree with the tree comment or the upgrade but MAN some people got to complain about EVERYTHING!!!! So SOFT everything is offensive but who cares what they find offensive go pound sand!!!
Not everyone thinks that destroying nature’s natural unspoiled land and replacing it with an amusement park is a good thing.
Maybe next the city can pave over all the WC open space.
The best community center and aquatic park was when the area was all natural, a wildlife habitat, and unspoiled by shallow minded humans.
