When I was young, living in a midwest area, where there was temp ranges from 95-100 to -30-40, and completely corrupt government, fellow students who lived in California would tell me how the streets were like glass, smooth, straight, well maintained, not like our war torn streets with potholes that could be declared lakes. Well, I have been here a few decades now, and I see an occasional smooth as glass street, but most are actually pretty crappy. While I am crabbing (apologies to all those who are actually reading this tripe), I really hate the sidewalks that are slanted along with the driveway. Actually is pretty rough on my old ankles…ok, be otch session done. Wishes for a good weekend to all!

I took the shell off my racing snail, thinking it would make him faster. If anything, it made him more sluggish.

Stop it! 😜

Never!

It’s a much better joke than the one with the snail that buys a fast little car with a big “S” painted on the side.

Sorry, Doc, but the escargo joke from Trading Places was better.

What has happened to Restaurants? Very hard to find decent food around these parts. Old food kept too long.
Rocco’s Mexican Pizzeria is the worst offender. Cooks do not understand The English language and makeup their own vile recipes.
Anyone know a good consistent, friendly place for dinner that won’t eat your wallet up?

Buttercup on Clayton and Denkinger. Just had Biscuits Benedict there yesterday. A little pricey but the food is consistently good, and if you’re lucky enough to be served by Pearl you’re in for a treat!

Thnaks, I do like the food at Buttercup in WC, but the atmosphere is a little weird for dinner.

Rocco’s has gone so far down hill it’s crazy. They used to have really good pizza back when it first opened. After COVID, the quality of their food has not recovered. Constantly serving burnt, carcinogenic pizza, smaller pasta portions, way higher entree prices, and bad quality cheese on the pizza. It’s like rubber bands.

1. I highly recommend Melo’s Pizza. One in PH and WC. Pizza is pricier but quality is top notch.

2. Another recommendation is El Aguila Mexican food in PH. It’s the only good quality Mexican food that I eat.

3. California Fish Grill is also really good. Just across the street from Rocco’s in WC.

4. There is a new Mediterranean/Turkish place called PiddeG in the Rocco’s/Whole Foods parking lot in WC. Very good food!

Go to Clayton!
Mudville Grill is pretty good, La Veranda is a bit nicer, and the Chop House is the best
( it’s a bit more expensive but worth it ) make sure to try creamed spinach as one of your side orders.

I know this is a Blog, and I know that the blog “interest” in a story is short-lived. I’m usually days late
to post and no one past monitor level ever sees them. I have just posted a “story” an “epic” maybe
back in the original story regarding the Islamic banner take over of the Memory Gardens Cemetery entrance…which I believe is now their possession, and that 9/11 memorial is on their land. So…………… have at it, or ignore it. I am so disgusted at this point… Take it as an offering.

@No Excuses
This story has made national news. Good!

A little humor… situational awareness,

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and so is taste in restaurants and food. The world would be boring if we were all the same…

Does anyone know anything about fake $100 bills that say for motion picture purposes? Somebody left that strange piece of paper on my porch and I can’t figure out why.

Cyn, the fake $100 bills are used by Directors in motion pictures in lieu of real money on the set (liability- cash could be stolen). I remember reading this was happening in Florida and back east, and law enforcement was involved. The news articles didn’t say “why” anyone would do this, probably because it’s a mystery. Even if whomever is doing this hoping to bait you and get you to use them, there is no financial gain (that I know of) to the fraudsters. It’s bizarre.

Thanks for the response. Yes, it’s very bizarre.

After further research (I was curious) it’s a harmless prank. I prefer ding-dong-ditch. At least we knew what was going on there!

Just checked, can buy $10,000 in motion picture $100s for $10.
.
Amazon sells it. May buy some Einstein $100s or maybe President
Trump $100s. Believe physical size of fakes are different than
legit currency.

@Original G
Yes, besides the “For Motion Pictures”, it was also heavier. I wish it would have had Trump’s face on it…..then I would have kept it.

Here you go, pack of 50 Trump $100.00 bills for $17.

I think I’ll wait for the real ones to come out. Just read that the $100 bills with Trump’s signature will be out in June…..changing things up after 165 years.

Tonight (bay area) channel 9. ‘Baltimore Bridge Collapse’.
Unknown if NTSB report will be included. covered.

.
Spring clamp terminal blocks are used for SPEED when building
control cabinets. Ship Dali had experienced power outages in the past.
Included in any troubleshooting procedure should have included hand manipulating each wire landed to each terminal block, one that pops
lose is usually the problem. Poor workmanship, cost $5 Billion in damages.
.
Designed and built motor controls, industrial control operating pulpits,
and control cabinets for over 25 years. Flat REFUSED to use friction /
push in terminal blocks, always used screw terminal blocks.
For any terminal block once tight, you give it a tug to insure a
solid connection.
.
For shrink wire labels, always used home made spacer at least 1/4″
wide to insure when wire was landed label was easy be read.
At 3am everything has to be quickly identifiable.
Industrial process line we worked on, line downtime was
$100 per minute.
