Not worth it all. The only thing I would support is getting rid of all these Clunkers, fake Lobbyists and Phony Politicians. And not necessarily in that order respectively!
Scientific American estimated the raging California wildfires set climate initiatives back 16 years.
Are empty reservoirs worth it?
Drill drill drill baby drill!!! Repeal that ridiculous $1.00 extra California gas tax too!
imo – we don’t need to resort that very expensive way of getting oil then refining it… there are many many under-utilized refinery operations in CA that are either abandoned or just shut off. Stop the politicos fining the refineries every week for ridiculous minor things (they were here first!) – keep them in Calif – – get the pumps going again & flowing to the refineries – a lot cheaper & faster than starting off shore drilling (and less risky).
no more refineries in Ca by design

His Imperial Majesty, Emperor newsom likely had a
whiny press conference, but I have no interest in finding
out how many time he blamed President Trump for
problems CA democrats created.
.
Surprised there wasn’t a massive ‘Rent-a-Riot’ on the beaches.

DRILL BABY DRILL
Drill, baby,,…drill.
Does everyone understand that oil prices are set on a global market which means that even though our oil does not come from Iran, and even though the US is a net exporter of oil, the disruption to that part of the world drives up oil prices. Drilling off the coast will have no impact on the prices we pay at the pump.
Are you sure?
When gas prices spiked during the Biden Administration they told Americans it was due to “The Putin Price Hikes”.
Putin isn’t global.
Oil and gas prices increased because of disruptions around the delivery of Russian oil and associated sanctions. As you remove supply from the system and demand remains static, prices will increase. This is basic supply and demand taught in high school.
Those would be short sighted Biden Administration driven sanctions with the goal of injuring Russia.
However combined with Biden Administration driven inflation on the way to 9%, the American people paid more at the pumps and for goods.
Biden handlers increased supply by draining emergency reserves to try to slow it down. Obviously an afterthought.
I watched energy secretary Jennifer Granholm (You know, the one that appeared on the dating game TV show), testify gas prices were up “due to the Putin Price Hike”.
However I do admire her ability to say that with a straight face in televised testimony.
Absolutely
I would also drop the different blends.
we are all bleeding money right now.
Taxes are bad enough and now we are going to add mileage tax plus increasing gas prices.
What if I were to suggest that there should be ZERO gas OR car registration tax to “maintain” existing roads …and all existing Highways (anything greater than a 4 lane) should be maintained as TOLL roads. Those who use it pay for it. I also suggest that prospect
for busses, trains, etc.
Knowing “us” if we allowed offshore drilling we’d let a foreign company do it/control it/set prices on it.
1) So, before I could vote for it, there would have to be unrelenting, unchangeable regulations to keep all of it, forever, citizen-grown/citizen owned. (No, I’m not talking “communism.”)
2) On the other hand, we probably have enough “fuel” sources inland in the US to cover us for many more generations–We just have to allow piped international access to it. Simple.
3)In the meantime, someone a lot smarter than me, needs to actually figure out how to “Use” the sun as a ‘almost free’ benefit for all of Earth…not as a short-lived solar/inverter FOR PROFIT scheme with 20 year obsolescence built in ~~~ like refrigerators and water heaters, and cars…….etc..
Sane politicians who aren’t unrealistic ideologues would have prevented higher gas prices. That means that rich kids from historic Bay Area families should not be politicians. They’ll never get it. They grew up in a pampered world.
.
The concern on offshore was that it could cause the crust to fragment and bring on the coastal region west of I-5 falling into the sea. Once a wild prediction by Edgar Cayce turns out to be true as geologists have discovered. (Want to move now?)
I would rather extract the oil here, safely, and manage the (minor) risks than have to import it at great expense. Better yet, let’s just go nuclear power and be done with it already.
I’d rather support making our state’s gas taxes an average of other states across the US.
Yes, but it won’t. Our tax base is too high and the money goes for stupid things unrelated to roads and highway infrastructure.

I don’t trust the oil companies. Exxon Valdez, BP oil blowout in the gulf..there is still oil on the beaches from their malfeasance.
It won’t lower prices only increase possibility of a big mess that wouldn’t get cleaned.
Higher price for our special blend I agree with. I grew up in the bay area I remember orange sky days.” Smog alerts” our air was looking like china’s does.
Higher gas tax suks national average .22. Ca .90 taxes always suk.
I’m glad we don’t pay tax on food or property tax on vehicles…
Slant drill from land to offshore wells.
Slant drilling works if you want to steal oil from under ‘somebody else’s’ mineral rights field. … which are beginning to wind down at their 99 yr old lease-mark anyway. Most of those mineral rights in what is now famously the Marcellus… were 99 year leases from the 1920s-1940s~~ and are now playing on gas, not so much oil–for a while,yet. Population spread and very few identifiable descendants will eliminate “shares” in a decade and the oil might miraculously 😏 flow again.
~~
Down in Tx…: within the last few days Pres Trump bragged about USA building its VERY FIRST new refinery in 50+ years. He told the truth… America First Refinery has gotten the investment it needs to build it, and is breaking ground right now
It will be the very first refinery built exclusively to refine Americn LIGHT/SWEET CRUDE OIL.
~~
THE CATCH: 100% of the investment was made by the Gazillionaire owner of RELIANT; an INDIAN
GAS STATION GIANT —IN INDIA!…. FINE PRINT: RELIANT GETS EVERY DROP OF REFINED OIL FOR A MINIMUM CONTRACT PERIOD OF 20 YEARS. EVERY DROP!
When we wonder why we both buy and sell oil, but mostly the refined products… because every
country needs our Light/sweet, and, in the past we only built refineries to handle HEAVY/SOUR
crude. They buy our gasoline grade SWEET, We buy their Sour and refine it, and they buy back what they need for “heating and factory” needs.
~~~ most of the benefit to the USA is putting some roughneck guys to work drilling and refining—
and International Relations…kissy kissy. That’s it.
I would support not starting “conflicts” in the interest of oil.
It’s the same old song on repeat.
FF incoming.
I support off-shore drilling, in general. Environmental risk is low. A nut job with a lighter is a much more impactful, significant environmental risk than some oil well far off shore.
