“As the probation expired for Pacific Gas & Electric, U.S. District
Judge William Alsup, who has been overseeing the probation for
years, was sharply critical of California’s largest utility, saying
attempts to rehabilitate the agency have failed.
“During these five years of criminal probation, we have tried
hard to rehabilitate PG&E,” Alsup wrote. “As the supervising
district judge, however, I must acknowledge failure.”
.
The judge said that during the probationary period — which
began in 2017 after PG&E was found guilty of six felonies in
relation to the San Bruno pipeline explosion of 2010, in which
8 people perished and about 60 suffered injuries — has proved
unfruitful in sharp unsparing language.
.
“While on probation, PG&E has set at least 31 wildfires, burned
nearly one and one-half million acres, burned 23,956 structures,
and killed 113 Californians,” Alsup said in his order ending the
utility’s five-year probation.
.
He then detailed the alleged crimes the company has committed
including 84 manslaughter charges related to the Camp Fire that
razed the town of Paradise to the ground.” …

Trump is talking about sending 10 thousand more troops, in addition to the 5k marines, already in the mid-East.
Just days ago, Trump was gaslighting us, pretending that Iran doesn’t have control over the Straits of Hormuth. And now that a handful of tankers have been allowed through, he’s pretending it was some big concession on the part of Iran.
Does anyone think that this debacle actually makes America more safe? Iran’s leaders are openly mocking Trump. For all his tough talk, Trump has been the one to back down, again and again.
Is this how we persuade Iran to abandon nuclear aspirations? Or is this how we embolden them?
yoyohop,
.
First you stated, “Trump is talking about sending 10 thousand more troops, in addition to the 5k marines, already in the mid-East” and then you stated, “For all his tough talk, Trump has been the one to back down, again and again.” Which is it? Is President Trump escalating or de-escalating?
Good question. Does it seem like Trump has a coherent strategy to you? To me, it seems like he is committing more resources to Iran but getting a poorer and poorer outcomes.
Let’s review:
A few months ago, he said their nuclear program was set back decades by the recent US bombings. Then last month he said they posed an imminent threat.
A week ago he said the Strait weren’t closed. And now he’s celebrating that 10 tankers were allowed through by Iran.
He said we didn’t need help with the war. Then he asked other countries to help secure the straits.
He said peace negotiations are going well. Iran repeatedly denied any negotiations.
I could go on and on here. The point is that Trump’s lies and gaslighting has reached the point of ridiculousness. He sounds like a clown. His Israel First stance has lost him his base and we’re starting to feel the consequences of the conflict at home.
Do you really want to double down on the Iran war?
I know this isn’t addressed to me, and perhaps I missed it along the way, but I haven’t seen anyone doubling down on the Iran war.
yoyohop,
.
What are the “poorer and poorer outcomes” that the U.S. is getting in Iran?
.
U.S. intelligence information changes, so both can be true, after all we’ve been given about a dozen reasons for the operation we’ve conducted in Iran over the last 4 weeks. I don’t have the access to U.S. intelligence information that you apparently have access to. How about you share your U.S. intelligence information with the rest of us.
.
A week ago, the Strait of Hormuz was open, but maritime traffic was down 90+%. Why should President Trump not be happy with Iran allowing maritime traffic through the Strait without issues?
.
Telling other countries that we don’t need their help with our military operations in Iran, while expecting other countries to step up and protect the safe passage of oil and gas tankers through the Strait that are full of the resources that they depend on aren’t the same thing.
.
If President Trump knew that Iran was not going to take military actions against those 11 ships, what makes you think that the U.S. is not engaged in “peace talks” with ANY Iranian officials? This is what we’ve seen take place in Venezuela and Cuba, so why wouldn’t it occur in Iran, too?
.
The point is that Donald Trump announced he was running for president in June of 2015, and you still don’t seem to understand how President Trump speaks and operates after the last 130 months. We aren’t seeing anything new from President Trump now. You can take the things that President Trump says seriously and figuratively, but not literally. Again, this is nothing new, we’ve seen this for 11 years.
.
The U.S. is already the home to half of the Jewish people on the planet. Keeping 10 million Israelis in Israel is a good thing. President Trump has continued the same pro-Israel stance as our previous 14 president’s. President Trump hasn’t lost his base.
.
I’m not doubling down on Iran. I want out of the U.N., out of NATO, I don’t really care about Ukraine, and I’d like to be done with Iran as soon as is possible, but your pushing me to rethink my positions.
If you’re thinking on doubling down on Iran, that’s your idiocy.
We went from limited air strikes and mission accomplished, to more bombing and mission not accomplished, but we’re ahead of schedule. Then we moved to an escalation in deployment of soldiers and ships and different players from the region. There is a very real possibility of US boots on the ground.
We went from denying that we killed a school full of children to admitting it but relenting that – oh we did it but not on purpose.
Trump is pretending that he is negotiating for peace, while Iran is denying it. The tankers that were let through probably were not for the benefit of the US, but because they belonged to Iran friendly countries.
And yes, this 2nd administration has been very different from the 1st. For all his tough talk, his first administration was one of the most peaceful presidencies in decades. His 2nd administration has been a disaster.
Tell me: What does US victory look like for you? And what would be the cost? At this point we’re not going to beat them with more bombs. So how many troops are you willing to lose over a “victory” and what will we gain by that “victory” that we didn’t actually have before?
yoyohop,
.
I’ve never said anything about doubling down on Iran. I’ve posted multiple times that I have mixed feelings about our actions in Iran, largely because I don’t have enough information to make a decision. I’ve stated multiple times for four weeks that I believe President Trump was sold a much simpler plan to achieve U.S. goals in Iran than we’re actually seeing.
.
You obviously have access to more information about Iran that you’re unwilling to share with us.
.
It’s been 11 years and you still don’t understand how President Trump operates. He says one thing publicly and then does something different. He’s spoken about this publicly many times. This is all about him being “unpredictable.” It’s something that worked extremely well for him in his first term.
.
There isn’t a real possibility of “boots on the ground,” as boots are already on the ground in Iran, as Special Forces are already there.
.
We all know that unfortunately collateral damage happens during military operations. Would you rather the U.S. not admit that the bombing of the school ever happened?
.
The fact that President Trump and Special Envoy Steve Witkoff new about the tankers strongly suggests that the U.S. is communicating with some faction of Iranian leadership, while another faction can deny being in contact.
.
You should really think about President Trump’s use of the military in his first term. Have you forgotten about military force and actions in Afghanistan, Algeria, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Chad, Comoros, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Iraq, Kenya, Liberia, Libya, Mali, Mauritania, Mauritius, Moracco, Niger, Nigeria, Rawanda, Senegal, Seychelles, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tanzania, Tunisia, Uganda, and Yemen?
.
I never once mentioned anything about or defined a “victory.” You must have information that you’re not sharing again if you know what it’s going to take to “beat them.” I never said that I was willing to lose any troops over a “victory.” Why don’t you tell us “what we will gain by that “victory” that we actually didn’t have before,” since you have all of the inside information that you’re unwilling to share and have all of the answers for what’s happening, and what’s going to happen in the future?
Trump has 100% lost his base. Take note of seats flipping to Democrat now. Even Mar a Lago now has a Democratic rep, a district Trump won by 11 points.
People are done with Israel first – especially the generation reaching adulthood now.
Hope Johnson,
.
We might be defining “base” differently. President Trump has lost about 70% of the few Democrats who voted for him, he’s lost about 30% of the less than half of independents who voted for him, he’s lost about 10% of almost all of the Republicans who voted for him, and he’s lost virtually none of his MAGA voters. There’s no doubt that President Trump has lost support among those who voted for him in 2024. It may be my fault, but I considered his base to be Republicans and his MAGA supporters, not all who voted gor him in 2024.
.
I don’t really care about Israel other than it survives in some form, because I don’t want the United States to be in a position to have to import a population of up to 10 million Israelis or any other large nationality of people.
.
I want the U.S. out of the U.N. because it’s a worthless organization that hasn’t lived up to its mandate and actively works against the United States.
.
I want out of NATO because I’m tired of the U.S. subsidizing the military and security needs of NATO countries so that they can pay for universal medical care and other social programs for their citizens at our expense.
.
I’m done with Ukraine, especially given the way we’ve handled supplying them with arms and we never should’ve supplied them with money. I believe it’s Europe’s responsibility to take care of, fund, and arm Ukraine. I have a problem supplying them with weapons when young military age Ukrainian males who fled Ukraine won’t fight for their own country, yet expect the U.S. to rescue Ukraine.
.
I want the U.S. to be done in Iran as soon as is possible.
.
The one area of “conflict” that I’m currently OK with how the U.S. has handled things so far is Cuba.
“The one area of “conflict” that I’m currently OK with how the U.S. has handled things so far is Cuba.”
So first we tell the world they’re not allowed to sell oil to Cuba in order to cause chaos and hurt everyone that lives there. Sign EO 14380 that prohibits hospitals (since they’re state run) from receiving diesel for their backup generators. Then just yesterday Trumps allows a Russian oil tanker to sell to Cuba. Not oil from our ally Mexico, but Russia. The same Russians that have been targeting Americans in Iran and the same Russians that helped Iran blow up one of our E3 sentry’s 2 days ago. Those are some of the most important aircraft in our fleet by the way. We only have 14 left now. Yeah, real genius handling of Cuba here. I never thought Trump was a Russian asset but it’s looking more and more each day like he is will all these gifts he’s giving to Russia.
JimH,
.
Yes, I’m perfectly fine with the U.S. having prevented the sale of oil to Cuba.
.
Oh, look at that, you believe the Cuban government doesn’t cause chaos or hurt their own people, because you believe only the U.S. does that. You actually believe had we allowed the diesel into Cuba, that the Cuban government would’ve actually used that diesel for hospital generators.
.
While I’m not particularly happy with the Russian oil tanker going to Cuba, I also don’t have all of the information that went into making that decision, you apparently do have all of that inside information, so, how about you share it all with us?
.
How have you made it to your age without understanding how the world works? Since the end of World War Ii, the Soviet Union and Russia have and do assist our adversaries and enemies, and we have and continue to assist their adversariesand enemies. Do you remember what side the Soviets/Russians were on in Korea, Vietnam, Libya, Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, among others, and now Iran? Do you happen to remember what side the U.S. was on during the Soviet-Afghan War and how many Soviet aircraft were destroyed by U.S. supplied weapons? You apparently believe only the U.S. can help Soviet/Russian adversaries and enemies, but not vice versa. You apparently believe that the U.S. can only work with countries who work in the best interest of the United States, which means we’d always be working alone.
.
Again, you seem to have all of the inside information as to why President Trump has made all of the decisions that he has in regards to Russia, so how about you share all of that information with us, or are you just creating it all in your head?
Actually you’re right. I agree with you. Considering the timing, the deal from Russia was probably “Hey Trump you better let us sell this oil to Cuba or we’ll let Iran blow up another one of your $300 million E3 sentry’s.
JimH,
.
Oh, you mean to “blow up,” similar to the HUNDREDS of Soviet aircraft that the Afghans, and one or two U.S. Congressmen, destroyed or “blew up,” with U.S. supplied weaponry given to the Afghans/Mujahideen to fight the Soviets during the Soviet-Afghan War. I understand you now.
.
Interesting, you now believe, or outright know, due to your access to insider and classified information or what you just make up in your head, that President Trump has allowed the Russians to sell, or deliver without payment, a tanker of oil to Cuba to prevent the destruction of U.S. aircraft in the Middle East by Iranian forces, with the assistance of the Russians. So, you now believe, or know, that President Trump made a GREAT deal with President Putin by allowing the delivery of that taker of oil to Cuba. Even I don’t believe that, but then again, I don’t have the access to ALL of the insider and classified information that you have to come to that conclusion myself.
Hmm, . . . . . . . .

“Straits of Hormuth”?
Souldn’t that be “Thtraiths of Hormuth”?
What’s with the lisp?
Actually there’s only one Strait of Hormuz so it should not be plural.
*
“Trump has been the one to back down, again and again”? huh?
Trump has done everything necessary to cripple Iran’s military, when did he back down from anything?
He’s trying to get these nutjobs to surrender without destroying the ability to produce oil
and preserve some viability and infrastructure for the Iranian people.
But never mind that Yoyo…. just keep your Jihad against Trump going & pray for failure.
It took 6 million troops marching into Berlin to get Germany to surrender. Not 1 but 2 nuclear bombs to get Japan to surrender. Not only is Iran still bombing everyone everyday and successfully keeping the strait closed causing economic chaos, but we killed Khameni 2.0’s whole family. Iran surrendering is pure fantasy.
We have no strategy and we’ve obviously lost control over this situation. The energy problem is so dire we’ve removed oil sanctions on Russia and Iran to keep prices down. And this is while Russia is providing targeting information to Iran on US troops. Do people honestly think Trump’s plan all along was to remove sanctions on the people trying to kill us? Iran is winning the economic long game here by spiking oil, bond yields and causing all sorts of supply chain disruptions that will rival covid. Helium (semiconductor mfg, MRI machines), fertilizer, aluminum, sulfur, petrochemicals for plastics, pharmaceuticals from India, the list goes in. We’re in for some real dark times if they don’t convince Iran to open the strait.
Let’s not forget that the houthis just joined Iran. So now it is 4 (Iran, houthis, Russia and China) vs 2 (Israel and us). If Kashi, a betting platform, have a bet on the outcome of this war, my money is on the other team.
The Houthis joining this mess is significant. We fought them for months over the summer and kept losing before Trump finally gave up on them, so we know their forces are quite powerful. A lot of oil exports are currently rerouted through the Red Sea, but the Houthis could close the bad al-mandab strait choking transit through that area sending oil prices even higher.
Paul,
.
It’s 12:48 p.m., shouldn’t you be at your “No Kings” event? I’m looking forward to your full report on the event.
It was a huge crowd. We started at sunny valley mall and spread all over to Walnut Creek. I am so proud to see some kids as young as 5 years old. Many funny and true political signs. Y’all miss out all the fun. I say it was a successful day and we should organize more to show and keep democracy alive. Go see a news coverage and you see for yourself.
Paul,
.
It couldn’t have been that much fun, since you found it more fun to be posting on Claycord about the Houthis mid-protest.
.
Why would you be proud to see 5-year olds protesting, when they have no idea what it is that they’re protesting?
.
If President Trump was truly a “King,” then he wouldn’t allow you to protest against the “King” and the “Monarchy.”
.
Didn’t you take pictures and send them to the Mayor of Claycord for posting? I only saw one media/news picture of the Concord protest with fewer than 20 people in it. You didn’t even mention the “human chain” that was supposed to stretch from the Concord protest, to the Pleasant Hill protest, and finish at the Walnut Creek protest. Was it less successful than “Hands Across America,” which wasn’t all that successful.
.
Were you really even there?
“Why would you be proud to see 5-year olds protesting, when they have no idea what it is that they’re protesting?”
*
Neither did anyone else.
I was at the protest for less than 1. Enough to show little support and chat with members from a democratic group. Then I went hiking at point Pinole for 4 hours. When I check NBC nightly news, I was amazed with the national turnout; also we got some support from other nations (such as in Spain, London (England)) for they also have protest against trump. But you do you. You use to be cool. Why so angry now?
Paul,
.
I’m far from angry. What would give you the idea that I’m angry?
No Kings for England!
It’s about time.
Paul, it’s called Sun Valley Mall… where in China are you posting from?
He must have missed that day in ESL class.
Thousands of Kurdish soldiers being readied to begin ground assault into norther Iran.
50,000 American forces in the Middle East with 5,000 Marines and 10,000 other troops on the way and overwhelming Air & Sea power, plus Israel already in the fight…. but you guys are predicting and hoping we’re going to lose?
Put down the bong!
No bongs here. Only a fool would cheer on the escalation of a war like it was a football game.
What would winning even look like? The Strait was already opened and Iran was already nukeless.
Tactical success doesn’t not equal strategic success. There’s so many historical examples of this. We had millions of US troops serve in Vietnam and almost 600,000 at the peak. We also had enormously successful bombing campaigns and won basically every battle over there… but we still lost the war. Even though we killed millions of people and 58,000 Americans. We had no strategy to win in Vietnam and we have no strategy in Iran. Iran will no doubt be bigger than Iraq and thousands of Americans are going to die over there before we lose again. Go watch Ken Burns documentary series on Vietnam. It should be required in schools.
Big difference is the Iranian people want to be liberated.
Vietnamese people just wanted to be left alone.
North Viet Nam never enriched uranium or threatened to use nuclear weapons or sponsored global terrorism.
You remind me of Walter in “The Big Lebowski”
This isn’t Viet Nam!
Here we go again with the war propaganda. The Iranian people want to be liberated? Says who? Fox news and the White House? You have no idea what the approval rating for the regime is and neither do I because there’s a total internet blackout in Iran. But if history repeats itself, which it does, then nationalism and a rally around the IRGC will grow overtime as we continue to blow up civilians, infrastructure and little girls’ schools. If I’m an Iranian and the US blew up my kid and destroyed my business I’m joining the IRGC the next day. On a side note there’s no evidence of a nuclear weapon program and Trumps own DNI said that their nuclear weapons program ended in 2003. She said that just last year. I bet you believe we can positively identify drug boats from the sky with 100% accuracy too.
It isn’t a secret.
Approx. 20% of the Iranian people do not want regime change.
Approx. 80% do want regime change.
Look that info up for yourself, I know you won’t take my word for it.
Total propaganda. Completely made up numbers you just posted. I can’t believe people fall for this nonsense.
“ there’s no evidence of a nuclear weapon program”
https://apnews.com/article/iran-nuclear-iaea-uranium-7f6c9962c1e4199e951559096bcf5cc0
Most power generating nuke plants use U-235 enriched to 3%-5%. Research reactors use approx 20%. Iran admits to having almost 300 lbs of 60%. Wake up Jim. The only known use for 60% uranium is to spin it into 90% uranium and to make a bomb. Iran could make 11 bombs with this in short order.
How did they get to 60%? THEIR NUCLEAR WEAPONS PROGRAM!
Iran made a grave miscalculation in thinking that DJT would let them stall like every other President since Reagan. They banked (and are still banking) on whiny citizens complaining about “No plan”, “No imminent threat”, “Gas prices are rising”, etc, to put pressure on the administration. They KNOW that the US media will spin the news in Iran’s favor. News flash: this doesn’t work with Trump.
The attack on Iran should have happened years ago. Trump is finally cleaning up Jimmy the Wimp’s mess.
Final thought: Folks who are screaming about the Iran war would be the loudest voices condemning Trump if the mullahs actually obtained a nuke.
Iran is charging tankers a $2 million toll to get through the Strait. They’ve held out against a superior force and your only explanation is because they are “nutjobs”? You’ll have to do better than that.
Like a lot of Trump supporters, I voted for him because his core messages were “No New Wars” and “America First”. He has betrayed those sentiments in the boldest possible fashion.
Trump actually stated, “I’ll have the honor of taking Cuba. …whether I free it, take it, I think I can do anything I want with it.” This is crazy talk. Unhinged. This is not what his base voted for and his support is crumbling.
This isn’t what I voted for and he must be denounced, just as I denounced the last administrations proxy war with Ukraine.
The USA asks itself…..WWGD?
What would Godzilla do?
It will be like this…….

…and where are the 8 tankers of oil he trumped about?
domo,
.
It appears to be 11 tankers, not 8, consisting of 6 oil tankers and 5 gas tankers. It appears that 2 of the oil tankers are headed for China and 1 is headed for Thailand. Among the gas tankers, 1 has already made port in India and another is headed for Singapore. No word yet on the destinations of the other 6 tankers.
….how is that a big present to us?
domo,
.
I’d guess that allowing 11 ships through the Strait of Hormuz without any attacks on those vessels would be the “big present to us.” It also appears to show that the U.S. and Iran are communicating and if the Iranians are cooperating.
yoyohop,
.
First you stated, “Trump is talking about sending 10 thousand more troops, in addition to the 5k marines, already in the mid-East.” Then you stated, “For all his tough talk Trump has been the one to back down, again and again.” Which is it, is President Trump escalating or retreating?
.
At a minimum, the Israelis were always going to bomb Iran’s nuclear facilities, just as they bombed Syria’s nuclear facilities about 20 years ago, and just as they bombed Iraq’s nuclear facilities about 45 years ago. To some degree the U.S. was always going to bomb Iran’s nuclear facilities, as our government was never again going to repeat what they view as a huge blunder, by allowing North Korea to acquire nuclear weapons. Just as President Reagan destroyed a large portion of Iran’s navy, President Trump has also decided to destroy other non-nuclear targets inside and outside of Iran for a variety of reasons.
.
Were you happier with President Biden’s covert operations inside of Iran’s borders? Were you happier with President Biden directly attacking Iran’s forces and/or Iranian backed militias in Iraq, Syria, Yemen, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Libya, Somalia, and greater North Africa, indirectly in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, as well as directly supplying Ukraine with weapons and money?
.
To some degree or another, this is just a continuation of decades of U.S. actions against Iran and its proxies.
What is the difference between Vietnam and the Iran War?
Trump had an exit plan for Vietnam.
The Trump White House has posted videos online that weave real images of missile strikes and destruction with clips from the Call of Duty video game. Just wow.
These are very sad and challenging times we’re going through right now. As a prior member of the military, this country feels almost unrecognizable to me—it’s not what we fought for.
It’s difficult to watch what’s happening, especially when decisions and policies are hurting people financially and impacting freedoms.
That’s why seeing Democrats win in recent special elections gives me hope. It shows that many Americans are pushing back and demanding something better.
The reality is, some of the same people being hurt by these policies are the ones who supported them. That’s not something to celebrate—it’s a reminder of how important it is to stay informed and understand the real-world consequences of our votes.
And regardless of political side, this conflict—what Trump is calling a “military operation”—was never necessary. There’s been no clear evidence of an immediate threat. It feels like another distraction rather than leadership.
One thing that does bring me some satisfaction is seeing people face the consequences of their choices. Many who supported MAGA are now feeling the impact—financially and personally—and the promises they believed in simply aren’t there.
As of today, we only have to deal with this administration for another +/-278 days.
Brighter futures ahead.
If you think the Democrats are the party of peace, you’re as delusional as Trump who thinks he’s winning the Iran war.
If we agree that Iran was a unnecessary war, tell me – Why was Ukraine a necessary war? And let’s not forget that the Ukraine war was Biden’s baby and his visits there go back to his work with Obama in 2011.
If Kamala had been elected… who knows? She was merely a figurehead for a Deep State administration, so we may very well have fought Iran anyway.
We not only need better leaders, but a voter that is smart enough to realize that voting for the other party – whatever that party is – will not fix this mess, because both parties are corrupt.
The only wars the US been in since WW2 that could be considered ‘necessary’ would be the Korean War, Gulf War and the initial (first several months) 2001 Afghanistan invasion to get Bin Laden. All other wars we have involved ourselves in have been utterly pointless. This includes Ukraine and Iran. I don’t know why some people think if you’re against the Iran war then you are definitely a Ukraine war supporter.
JimH,
.
It’s because most Americans, or most vocal Americans, either support the Russian-Ukrainian War or the operation in Iran. One is viewed as “President Biden’s War” while the other is viewed as “President Trump’s War.”
The necessary bit with Ukraine is due to honoring a commitment we made in 2001. Its fine to not agree with that commitment , but it is important to follow through with what previous leaders have promised another country.
An example of what happens when we don’t honor commitments is Iran. I don’t think it was necessary at all for us to bomb Iran. We should have maintained the agreement brokered by Obama until Iran actually violated it.
Humans are flawed. The things we make are inherently going to have aspects of corruption. Realistically, if Kamla had won we very well all have health care right now. I still don’t think Trump’s “thoughts and ideas” were or are a suitable alternative.
MFDoom,
.
If it was about the “importance of honoring a commitment,” then we never would’ve left Vietnam in 1975.
.
So, you really believe if Vice President Kamala Harris had won the presidency in 2024, that we’d “Realistically, if Kamala had won we very well all have health care right now?” In 2009, President Obama and the Democrats had 60 Senate seats and 257 House seats and couldn’t pass universal healthcare, but you now believe that a President Kamala Harris, who was less popular than President Obama was in 2009, would’ve been able to pass universal healthcare with the Democrats holding 47 Senate seats and 215 House seats. You’re living in a fantasy world, because that wouldn’t have ever happened!!!
Good thing I wasn’t talking about the Vietnam conflict then now isn’t it?
And based in what you chose to quite from my reply, very well isn’t exactly a definitive belief. But what I claimed is far more substantial then Trump’s empty pages of a health care alternative he tried to pass off in his 1st term.
We could both be wrong about Harris’ term if she had won. We’ll never rreally know now, so what? I don’t think Harris would have handed away our opportunity to stay on forefront of modern combat like Trump has. But yes, a deep state contingent would have handled Harris’s policoes and Trump is somehow ethically detached from anything similar while he spreads our forces thinner and further away from Taiwan.
For Trump, and apparently you, honoring commitments is nothing. Cool. We’ll see how well that plays out with drones while we tangle with the 3rd most.proficiant country when it comes to in the field knowledge of drone deployment.
MFDoom
.
Apparently, “honoring commitments” really means nothing to you either, since you want to pick and choose when and which commitments we must honor.
.
You don’t have to wait for President Trump for a healthcare plan, as every state, county, and city is more than free to provide healthcare for their residents. You should have Governor Newsom, the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors, and your City Council get moving on their healthcare plans for their residents.
Ready to move on,
.
You stated, “These are very sad and challenging times we’re going through right now. As a prior member of the military, this country feel almost unrecognizable to me—it’s not what we fought for.” The country doesn’t seem sad and/or facing more challenging times to me, it’s largely continuing on from one administration to the next. If the U.S. appears unrecognizable to you, then I suggest getting new glasses. Who do you think you are to decide what every current member of the military and every veteran “fought for?” The good thing is that you don’t get to decide what every current member of the military and veteran “fought for,” do you? We all get to decide that for ourselves!
.
Where have you been? The decisions and policies of every administration “hurt people financially and impact freedoms.”
.
First you stated, “The reality is, some of the same people being hurt by these policies are the ones who supported them. That’s not something to celebrate—it’s a reminder of how important it is to stay informed and understand the real-world consequences of our votes.” You then stated, “One thing that does bring me some satisfaction is seeing people face the consequences of their choices. Many who supported MAGA are now feeling the impact—financially and personally—and the promises they believed in simply aren’t there.” Which is it, people being hurt is “not something to celebrate” or does it bring you “some satisfaction seeing people face the consequences of their actions?” I believe that you made it clear, you celebrate, take joy and satisfaction in seeing other Americans hurting because they didn’t/don’t agree with you. The great thing is that you don’t get to decide what’s in the best interest of other Americans, each and every American voter gets to make those choices for themselves.
.
You stated, “As of today, we only have to deal with this administration for another +/-278 days.” Are you delusional? The Trump Administration doesn’t end on December 31, 2026, it ends on January 20, 2029, which is another 1,030 days, including today. Even if you stated this because you believe Democrats will take the majority of the House and/or Senate in November, then you’d still be wrong because the new Congress isn’t sworn in and seated until January 03, 2027.
.
Brighter futures are always ahead, if that’s your mindset.
@Ready to move on
Iran calls America the great satan; Death to America; and has taken out hits on Trump. And you wrote that what you find satisfying is seeing Americans hurt financially and personally. You also wrote that you’re a prior member of the military….whose military? Iran’s?
Conservative Patriot,

This appears to be fake news about Chuck Schumer being in Hollywood Madam Heidi Fleiss’ little black book.
Conservative Patriot,
.
Link #1 – This is misleading news. While the piece posted by Nick Shirley about potential fraud in Los Angeles County looks very promising, he hasn’t really proven any fraud yet, just what appears to be potential fraud, and likely is fraud. This will likely be just as bad for Republicans when someone investigates all of the money in Florida that has been funneled to the Cuban population and the amount of Medicare related fraud that’s taken place in the state.
.
Link #2 – This appears to be misleading/fake news. Ilhan Omar was removed from the House Foreign Affairs Committee, more than 3 years ago, because of statements that she made that were considered anti-semitic and un-American, not because “Ilhan Omar was determined to not be able to think properly about foreign affairs!”
.
Link #3 – This appears to be fake news. So far there’s been no evidence of Chuck Schumer’s wife owning a cleaning business where over 80% of the 1,100+ employees were illegal aliens.
.
Link #4 – This appears to be fake news. While Governor Tim Walz did sign a bill in 2020 regarding reform of actions taken by peace officers, your link vastly oversimplifies the bill. State law would more than likely be irrelevant, as the Trump Administration has said the matter will be handled at the federal level of government and that the Border Patrol Agent involved has “sovereign immunity,” although, state officials have said they’re going to prosecute the case, but that really remains to be seen. Furthermore, the U.S. Supreme Court made a ruling last year which now considers the actions taken by a peace officer that contributed to the use of deadly force.
I’m by far not obsessed, but why waste the time of other Claycord readers and posters with inaccurate information and lies? Last time Claycord removed your “fake news” posts.

So excited to know that you have turned a new leaf and have finally seen the light. It will be nice to have support in ousting the king. This king has been brutal and evil. He had folks arrested that he did not agree with, because they visited the beach during Covid while he feasted with friends at the French Laundry. Currently this dictator king is trying to force communities to build houses to support the impoverished communities … why because he has failed in his promises to end homelessness which started in San Francisco. His failures know no bounds, just like the checkbook he uses at the tax payers expense; charge them taxes to build the roads, extra taxes on the gas and still more to use the new priority express lanes and now let’s try to charge them for every mile they drive. When does it end … and that is after the insane amount of registration fees to drive in this state unless I am illegal or poor and then I don’t have to pay a dime because it is racist or discriminatory.
So I will join you in saying “Down with King Newscum and all his lackies!” They all belong in jail, or should I say dungeons since we are discussing kings?

Explanation of democrat propaganda.
.
“All propaganda must be so popular and on such an intellectual level,
that even the most stupid of those towards whom it is directed will
understand it. Therefore, the intellectual level of the propaganda must
be lower the larger the number of people who are to be influenced by it”
.
“The receptivity of the masses is very limited, their intelligence is small,
but their power of forgetting is enormous. In consequence of these facts,
all effective propaganda must be limited to a very few points and must
harp on these in slogans until the last member of the public understands
what you want him to understand by your slogan”

“All propaganda has to be popular and
has to accommodate itself to the comprehension
of the least intelligent of those whom it seeks to reach”

Do you remember when Ross Perot ran for president in 1992 on paying off the $4 trillion of debt we had? Fast forward 34 years and we’ve added an additional $35 trillion to the debt and we’ve gotten nothing for it. Congress fails year after year to rein in federal spending, this year we’re spending an estimated $1.8 trillion more than what we’re bringing in in revenue. It would take every man, woman, and child in the United States paying about $14.50 a day, every day, to rid ourselves of our $1.8 trillion deficit this fiscal year. States, counties, cities, and special districts are also increasing their levels of debt and engaging in deficit spending.
Many of us saw this coming in the 1970s. I wound up spending many an afternoon reading economic books and novels (remember the guy from Sonoma who wrote paperback novels to explain economic concepts. He was often on KGO radio). Remember the survivalist movement?
I was hopeful for Trumps DOGE to help reign some of our debt it but oh boy what a failure that was. And now they want another $200 billion for the war. And this is all while bond yields are spiking. God help us.

It’s time to come to terms with the fact that Trump is a tool just like the rest of them. Strings are being pulled from a much higher level.
Start stacking.
If the Democrats won election in 2024 we were told inflation was going to go up, gas prices were going to go up, we were going to be in useless wars, we would be disrespected all over the world the United States would be. So the Republicans get elected, We are in useless wars. We’re paying more money for everything. We are pretty much hated by everybody but Israel. We are not safer. Trump is using the constitution as T.p. and MAGA doesn’t care. He did get his mission accomplished though no one is talking about the Epstein files!
It’s almost like it doesn’t matter who gets elected.
And yes, MAGA, and his supporters very much care. The coalition of Republicans and Independents that got him elected has crumbled. He lied to his supporters and now he’s polling at record lows.
No, that coalition has not crumbled.

If or when all the info is ever released, I have a feeling a lot of Socialist Democrats are going to be sorry they asked for it.

Blame the media, as the media controls the narrative, not the president. Maybe our corrupt corporate media was looking for something else to talk about to protect themselves, their associates, their bosses, and the owners of their media organizations. After all, they spent the month of February talking about Nancy Guthrie, not Jeffrey Epstein, or do you want to blame the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie and the month long fixation on her disappearance by the media on President Trump, too.

affordable housing is coming to Clayton CA. It is the Olivia project. Too bad that only 7 units are available for low income and they have 55 years sunset. I have they build more affordable houses income in Clayton and put a more public transportation out there (right now Clayton only have route 10).
You’ve posted that you want a lot of affordable housing in Clayton. You’ve also posted that you like to go to Clayton for the country feel. Admit it, Paul, you don’t care about Clayton one way or the other…you’re just doing your regular affordable housing schtick while hoping to rile up some folks.

This is a project that’s been stalled for about a decade. The property was put on the market back in 2024, but has since been taken off of the market. Golf- President Trump’s golf habits reportedly cost U.S. taxpayers about $300 million during his first term. Trump’s golf habit has now cost taxpayers at least $101.2 million in travel and security expenses since his return to office. He is going for a new record. Remember when Trump complained about Obama playing golf?
He did complain Obama was a lousy golfer.
doh,
.
It’s not uncommon for a candidate to campaign against the actions of a sitting president, just as then candidate Donald Trump campaigned against then President Barack Obama’s golf habit. It’s usually not until a President gets into office that they find and understand how confining it is to be president, how confining the White House actually is, and the desire to escape that confinement.
.
Unless something has changed that I’m not aware of, the government pays for presidents to travel to and from one of their homes of their choice. For President Trump, he chose his home, Mar-a-Lago, in Palm Beach, Florida. Other personal travel is usually funded by the presidents themselves, campaign funds, political parties, and/or private funding.
.
Current and former President Trump goes/went to Mar-a-Lago, Palm Beach, Florida. President Biden went to Rehoboth, Delaware. I only remember President Obama returning to his home in Chicago, Illinois once and often went to Camp David, Frederick County, Maryland, or on family vacations to different locations. President Bush went to Crawford, Texas. President Clinton didn’t own a home and went to Camp David, Frederick County, Maryland. President Bush went to the Bush Compound, Walker’s Point, Kennebunkport, Maine. President Reagan went to Rancho del Cielo, Santa Ynez Mountains, Santa Barbara County, California. The location of presidential homes plays a huge factor in those travel costs.
.
I don’t think anyone is happy with the costs related to the personal travel and recreation of our presidents, but our representatives in Congress decided travel to and from one home, security costs, and travel and lodging for support staff would be covered by the American taxpayer. If you don’t like it, get Congress to change the law, to only cover presidential leisure travel to and from Camp David and no recreational activities outside of government properties. I don’t think Congress would go along with changes because they don’t want presidents to be prisoners of the White House, but they’ll surely enjoy complaining about the costs incurred by presidents of the other party. I understand why President Carter sold the presidential yacht, but he made a huge mistake in doing so!
Trump;s name– Trump’s handpicked Commission of Fine Arts voted Thursday to approve a commemorative coin and Trump’s commission is also in the process of reviewing a proposed $1 Trump coin, which is raising legal questions because it’s against the law to display the image of a living president,
Trump’s signature will soon appear on US dollar bills, a first for a sitting president
The government has launched TrumpRx, a website for prescription drugs, in addition to the Trump Gold Card, which gives holders the right to live and work in the US and a path to citizenship for a high price. Trump’s picture also appears on some National Park annual visitor passes and his name has been installed on the building and signage around the US Institute of Peace.
Trump’s handpicked board of trustees at the Kennedy Center have also added his name to the performing arts center. If course Trump has top billing.
Did you forget about the Trump Accounts?
doh,
.
It’s not exactly, “against the law to display the image of a living president” or other living person on American money. There’s several loopholes in the law. Different laws apply to currency versus coinage, circulating coinage versus circulating commemorative coinage versus non-circulating commemorative coinage, and the struck image appearing on the obverse of coinage versus the reverse of the coinage. The law also gives the Secretary of the Treasury the final authority to approve the coinage designs.
.
The Commission on Fine Arts and the Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee had actually previously approved another coin for America’s Semiquincenntennial, which would’ve been illegal because the reverse of the coinage included the engraved image of a living person. Had the engraved image on the struck coinage been on the obverse of the coinage instead of the reverse of the coinage, then it would’ve been legal to mint the coinage.
So Trump is vain and likes his name on stuff. So what? Did you just figure that out?
Stick to things that matter if you want to be taken seriously.
It’s a pretty good strategy as those guys go into an absolute tailspin every time his name appears on something.

Former Attorney General Pam Bondi is going to the private sector. She was in the position because of her close relationship with Chief of Staff Suzie Summerall Wiles. She was horrible at her job and needed to go to another position in the administration or the private sector.

Former Secretary of Homeland Security and current Special Envoy Kristi Noem also needed to move on from her previous position as she poorly represented the department with some of her actions, decisions, and statements.
