In March 2026, the murder trial of Andre Barocio Jr. began in Contra Costa County Superior Court. On April 8, 2026, Barocio Jr. was found guilty of first-degree murder. He is scheduled to be sentenced in June 2026.
On April 3, 2023, officers with the Pleasant Hill Police Department responded to a report of a shooting in the parking lot in front of Farrington’s Bar in Pleasant Hill. Upon arrival, officers located 37-year-old Oscar Laredo-Arellano deceased from a gunshot wound. Investigators determined the shooting occurred following an argument.
Barocio Jr. was identified as the suspect. In May 2023, Pleasant Hill Police detectives, working in coordination with federal law enforcement and Mexican state police, located him in Mexico. He was arrested and returned to the United States to stand trial.
