Not sure when his tenure is up but it’s clear he won’t get re-elected…. he’s done!

domo,
.
Congressman Eric Swalwell isn’t running for reelection because he chose to run for governor instead. The term for members of Congress is up on January 03, 2027.

His term was scheduled to end in January 2027.
He announced his resignation today, tho.

yes…. Like 13 years ago when they first became
aware of his antics.
There is a certain republican from Texas that needs to go and a few others. Regardless of party, gotta go

Rcp,
.
Congressman Tony Gonzalez of Texas has already announced his intention to retire from Congress.

As my Hubby says, …”Helz Yes!” Like years ago.

Smart Man

He should have been expelled after he was found to be compromised. It has been an open secret regarding this guy and the fact he is predetroial to any woman he meets. Time to make an example out of him and show the rest of people like him in government that this will not be tolerated.

Yes!!! Since Congressman Eric Swalwell and the Democratic Party found it necessary for him to suspend and drop out of the 2026 race for Governor of California, then he should also resign from Congress. To not resign shows the American public that this means nothing and is not about the sexual abuse and assault accusations and his numerous admitted extramarital affairs, but that it’s all about politics, to keep a Democrat in Congress due to the slim majority held by Republicans and in order to thin the candidate field in the race for Governor of California to ensure that a Democrat finishes in the top-two jungle primary, which is more than likely to happen anyway, despite the fact that Congressman Eric Swalwell will remain on the primary ballot in the race for Governor.

He resigned, as did an R from TX

Is this a rhetorical question?

The Bay Area’s own version of Carlos Danger. This guy is so sleazy that he won’t even be able to get a gig on CNBC.
Maybe Mrs. Swalwell’s eyes have opened too.
Lose your campaign. Lose your job. Lose your family. This is what hubris and narcissism looks like.

Yes, and go to jail.

He should have been out of there when the Fang Fang incident took place.

That was different. When he was alerted to her antics, he cooperated with the feds.

Don’t political parties conduct any background checks on
their candidates for state and especially federal office ? ? ?
Or do they just sit back and wait to see which chamber
revolver’s cylinder stops on ? ? ?
.
Members of congress have access to classified documents,
shouldn’t there be a deep dive done by FBI into their
backgrounds and questionable behaviors ? ?
If military requires a deep dive for top secret clearances
why not the same for members of congress ? ?
.
If a candidate for congress knows FBI is going to turn their
life inside out to protect our country, some might reconsider.
.
Would make likelihood of lobbyists, large companies or
foreign countries being able to blackmail them ? ? ?
.
Childhood best friend while in military had duty assignments
with access to classified documents. FBI stopped by our house
asking many standard questions about him, his family and
his character. He had no problems getting a very high clearance.
.
After Fang-Fang, at the very least his security clearance
should have been temporarily REVOKED .
.
Members of congress should be vetted to military standards,
and maybe higher, reducing likely hood of them being in a
position to be blackmailed. Is it possible some in congress
would have their top secret credentials revoked ? ?
.
Given politicians at state and federal levels make laws
that can greatly effect our families, shouldn’t they be
held to a higher standard. Or do we keep present
method of candidates or state propositions spending
highest tens of millions, to CON voters, wins ? ?
.
When does the house cleaning begin ? ? ?

… just heard he resigned from Congress

The Sexual assault charges are unproven, but somone did something to give Fang-Fang a heads up because the FBI was coming for her, and ol’ Eric is the only one they told.

Personally, I think Swalwell is a self-centered narcissistic creep.
But like any other American he is presumed innocent until proven
guilty, therefor he should be arrested and charged with the crimes
he’s accused of. Besides the rape and unwanted sexual assaults
he’s accused of, he’s also accused of several other crimes including
mortgage fraud and using campaign funds to pay a nanny who
was not legally authorized to work in the United States.
If found guilty, he should be sentenced to a long prison term.
When they make an example of him, other politicians who
believe they are above the law will think twice before attempting
any criminal activity, and if Trump succeeds in reopening Alcatraz,
I can’t think of a better place that’s suited for him.

Completely agree. Any politician found guilty should receive the maximum punishment, I would also like the constitution changed so a guilty president should be ineligible for a pardon. No more pardoning by his/her successor.

1

Yeah and no pardons for his kids….. or his entire family…. or even for stuff Hunter hasn’t done yet.

Hey, what are hunter’s painting selling for these days ? ? ?

Breaking news…he just resigned from Congress

Fox News reported 13 minutes ago that Swalwell is resigning from Congress. Maybe the first honorable thing he has ever done. Good riddance.

Swalwell announced today that he will resign from congress. Our opinions no longer matter, since it’s already a done deal. Bye, Eric.

The Observer,
.
In his post on X, Congressman Eric Swalwell said,
.
I am deeply sorry to my family, staff, and constituents for mistakes in judgment I’ve made in my past. I will fight the serious, false allegation made against me. However, I must take responsibility and ownership for the mistakes I did make.
.
I am deeply sorry to my family, staff, and constituents for mistakes in judgment I’ve made in my past. I will fight the serious, false allegation made against me. However, I must take responsibility and ownership for the mistakes I did make. Therefore, I plan to resign my seat in Congress.
.
I will work with my staff in the coming days to ensure they are able, in my absence, to serve the needs of the good people of the 14th congressional district.”
.
We don’t yet know when he intends on leaving office, so, our opinions still do matter.

He said “I plan to resign my seat in Congress”
He did not say “effective immediately”
As we all know sometimes plans change & I won’t trust this liar to hop off the gravy train if he sees any way to keep milking it.
He has carefully left himself some wiggle room.
The guy doesn’t even look embarrassed…. I don’t trust anyone who can fart on TV and keep a straight face!
For Eric to change his mind and have the gall to make a pathetic effort to remain in Congress would be completely unsurprising.

the Traitor.
There I fixed it for you.

This is now a moot question. Swalwell has resigned from Congress.

Ding, Dong, the DB is dead.

Absolutely not!!!

He should be expelled for life, never to be allowed to be involved in American Politics ever again, jail time would be the frosting on the cake!!!

Newsom is next!!!

Both of these vermin need to rot in hell!!!

He’s out!

You have to wonder when someone is super vocal about condemning someone else- like Swalwell was against Trump- what they themselves are hiding, and trying to take the focus off. Adam Schiff is the other one that would fit into this category for sure too!

6
2

Yes. This Democrat believes Swalwell made the right decision to withdraw from the race for governor and to resign from Congress. TX R Tony Gonzales resigned today, too.
