Congressman Mark DeSaulnier (CA-10) released the following statement upon the resignations of Representatives Eric Swalwell (CA-14) and Tony Gonzales (TX-23) from Congress.
“The departures of Mr. Swalwell and Mr. Gonzales from Congress represent steps in a more constructive direction. While they have a right to due process and their individual day in court, it is both a privilege and a sacred responsibility to the public, not a right, to serve in the House of Representatives. Their alleged behavior is an attack on the integrity of the Congress and made them unfit to serve the American public in Congress. Their constituents deserve better. I am horrified, particularly as a member of the Bay Area delegation, to have learned of Mr. Swalwell’s alleged behavior last week and remain committed to ensuring justice for all victims.”
This could be perceived and read as “constructive direction” so please don’t come after me? This from a guy who hasn’t accomplished anything, takes no accountability whatsoever for his actions or lack thereof. I guess all of you folks that said Mark has been clueless for years were right! – Although I personally think Nancy told him to write this.

There is one thing, DeSaulnier. He has done exactly nothing for his constituents of any consequence, other than rally against his President and the USA. For those in his district that think ranting and raving against leadership is a productive pursuit worthy of your vote, I’m sorry for you. Require more of your elected REPRESENTATIVES. Mark is feeding at the taxpayer trough and giving you nothing in return but platitudes, sidewalk ‘resistance’ and rage bait. Demand more of your elected representatives.

A member of congress who who puts their political party’s
agenda above the good of OUR country and votes against
legislation to improvement OUR country, is to me
NOT a person of integrity.

Senator Ruben Gallego of Arizona hasn’t resigned, but he needs to.
Mark getting all ‘high and mighty’ about stuff he and other knew was going on. They wanted to keep Swalwell a ‘D’ in office for the good of the party. Surprised they aren’t pushing the MAGA is doing this angle. Seems they are cutting and running. Anytime these politicians say, ‘serving the public’ they really mean ‘serving their party’.
