Most of us could probably say the same! Too funny Jim!!!
glad to see some of us still carry a sense of humor
Hard to come up with one… been almost everywhere – Farallon Islands maybe?
One of Eric Swalwell’s orgies.
Damn Dude!!! LMAO!
cant believe this made the cut but agreed bddp LMMFAO
USA Jim! HA! I’ve been to jail three times, twice on my kidz field trips to the CCCounty Court House, and …AND! when I was honored to have been selected to attend the CCCSheriffs Citizen’s Academy…I highly recommend attending if your are able.
I’d like to see the monument at Port Chicago.
The Marin Headlands. I’ve been to Marin County on countless occasions,
Muir Woods, Stinson Beach, Mount Tam, Point Reyes, and many other
places, but I have never been to the Marin Headlands.
The Winchester Mystery House, I heard it’s a good visit but have just never found myself down there with nothing to do.
I have been there once and you should go you won’t be disappointed!
Think we are going to visit the John Muir House this year for the first time.
So crazy since it’s so close, … just need to plan a little outing.
My wife and I stumbled on this amazing free field trip after the Farmer’s Market! Go Roz you will be impressed, I wanted to go hike the hills he named after his daughter’s but we ran out of steam!
Been there several times, interesting, fun, and free.
The Bay Model in Sausalito.
Never been to Muir woods, Mt. Tam, on the golden gate bridge, or Yosemite. Lived here for 66yrs
Yosemite is one of the most beautiful and awe inspiring places on Earth. You’ve seen the pictures! But nothing can compare to the majesty of actually being there.
We used to take (very long) day trips. Get up crazy early because it’s about a 3 hr drive. Stop at Lower Yosemite Falls. Then drive over to the main lodge and have lunch, browse the Ansel Adams gallery, and check out the museum. Walk over to mirror meadow, seeing the Awanhee along the way. Look up at the meadow because you are standing at the base of Half Dome. Drive over to Curry Village and find some parking. Hike up to Vernal Falls. Hike back to Curry Village and have dinner. Drive up to Glacier Point and watch the sunset and take in the view from the valley’s rim. Time to drive home.
Back home around midnight. It is a long day, but worth it.
As soon as Tioga Pass opens in the spring, drive up theough Sonora, over Sonora Pass, down US 395 past Mono Lake, then over Tioga Pass into Yosemite and to Tuolumne Meadows. Park and wander around the river that runs through ti and you feel like you are in an outdoor catedral. Then climb at least part way up the adjacent Lembert Dome and take in the views. As you drive back into the park, stop at Olmsted Point and see the back side of Half Dome. BTW the two passes are the highest in California and higher than any in Switzerland.
TY for the idea. Never been up to Tuolumne Meadows. I guess that the place I want to visit is TM. I mapped out your trip and it looks great.
I’ve never been past Dardanelle on 108. Guess I have a reason now!
BTW if you’re into camping, check out the Clark Fork Campground (below Dardanelle). A little off the main drag, but it is clean, QUIET, and not dusty. Camp sites are not on top of one another. Decent fishing in the river.
Yosemite should be visited at least once in a lifetime, it truly is awe-inspiring.
The best time is off season when it’s less crowded.
My wife and I just visited Discovery Bay last weekend for the first time. Give it a look not too far and a blast!
After we retired, but shortly before we left the state, we finally visited Alcatraz. We really enjoyed our tour, but I can’t imagine that facility being of any future use due to salt and moisture damage. The concrete is crumbling and metal is rusting.
I wish we had been able to tour Port Chicago Memorial. Several months before our 2016 road trip, I tried to get tickets, but they were sold out long in advance.
Lafayette Reservoir
Filoli.
Worth the trip.. Been there.
Easy Street
Angel Island
USS Hornet in Alameda.
Mt. Tam, Marin Headlands.
