Free Senior Food Program Launches At Concord Senior Center For Eligible Residents

The Food Bank of Contra Costa & Solano has launched its “Senior Food Program” at the Concord Senior Center, expanding access to free, nutritious food for eligible older adults in the community. This program is offered twice monthly on the first and third Thursdays from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. at the Concord Senior Center. It is a free drop-in service available to Concord residents age 55 and older who meet income guidelines. No reservations are required.

Program Details:

  • Open to eligible Concord residents age 55+
  • No RSVP required; participants may drop in during program hours of 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
  • First-time participants should bring:
  • Photo ID (drivers license, passport, government-issued ID)
  • Proof of Concord address (e.g., utility bill or PG&E bill)
  • Completed intake form (available at the Senior Center reception desk)

To learn more about food assistance resources throughout Contra Costa and Solano counties, please contact the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano County at 855-309-FOOD (3663).

It’s a shame when there are seniors in need of extra help to feed
themselves, while illegal invaders are being taken care of at no
cost to them from local and state governments.

Great program for seniors, especially since the cost of living has gone up so much. I wouldn’t want to see any senior go hungry.

The organization of the food banks is remarkable. I cannot speak specifically about the CC one, but the amount of food these groups move around is incredible.
