Celebrate Earth Day With Volunteers Events Across Concord

Join the City of Concord in celebrating Earth Day this April by giving back to our local environment. A series of hands-on volunteer events will take place across the city, offering residents a chance to support parks, plant trees, and help care for Concord’s urban forest.

Saturday, April 25 (9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.)

  • Willow Pass Park (2748 E. Olivera Road): Tree planting + mulching
  • Brazil Quarry Park (Kent Way): Fence repair, mulching + tree planting
  • Lime Ridge Open Space (3701 Treat Boulevard): Mulching, weeding + litter removal
  • Hillcrest Community Park (Grant Street & Olivera Road): Creek cleanup and weeding

These events are a great way to get outdoors, connect with your community, and make a visible impact on Concord’s green spaces. To participate, just sign the waiver through the link below.

I’m always on board with volunteerism and doing better for the environment (within reason) …..but I always wonder – how many of these city employees are “volunteering” or even required to volunteer (and they would even be paid for that day.

domo,
.
I’d guess that the Concord City Council will be doing the “volunteering” and the city employees attending will be getting paid, but will be limited to those delivering the equipment, trees, and mulch to these 4 locations.

WTF is “Earth Day” !!?

Some new leftie attempt to highlight so-called Global Warming… Er… Climate Change… Or whatever it’s called today ?

I was sitting on the lawn next to the Washington Monument on that first “Earth Day” waiting to go back home to Lafayette. My 6 month Active Duty with the Army Engineers. Back then it was a great place to be stationed. Lots of scenery and LOTS of Beautiful Women!!
