I especially love the people with 50 items in the 15-items-or-less checkout.
If there’s more than 2 people, I’m out! I’ll deal with self checkout and hit the help button every time because at least I’m moving forward. Never had any problems with self checkout either, so not sure that’s really a thing.
After 6 pm at home depot self check outs only thing
to check out with. Dang thing glitched and kept
calling for assistance, employee was with another
customer. Thing was still calling for it’s Mommy,
when I left the stuff sit and walked out.

Before and since, I refuse to use self checkout,
don’t believe in putting people out of work ! ! !

If self-checkouts are the only option you can have a store employee scan and bag the items for you.

In fact when the person in front of me is arguing with the cashier while trying to use an expired coupon, I always offer them $10 in order to get the line moving again.
Funny how it usually seems to be about cat food.
One time I received a round of applause from the people behind me.
Don’t mind the lines. Referencing to grocery stores specifically.
I don’t have patience for the self-check out. CVS is ok, but grocery stores always a glitch and not condusive for me at this point.
Self-checkout is a computer, and computers are known to malfunction,
that’s one of the reasons I like older cars, no computer!
Long lines don’t bother me as long as the cashier isn’t dawdling, and
the line is moving. The only thing that annoys me is when I’m grocery
shopping and people leave their cart in the middle of the aisle while
they’re looking for something. The least they can do is park it out of the way.
Other than that, life’s too short to let everyday vexations get me down.
Long lines at grocery stores…. if it’s 3 or more I’ll get the mgr and ask for more cashiers….. self-check now has long lines as well sometimes.. and too many take their time using the self checkout not really paying attention or caring about how long of line they’re creating
I use self-checkout to make sure I get the deals. Rushed through at a checker sometimes deals would get missed. I know how to call for assistance when needed if a price isn’t coming through right and some 50% off actually need an employee to run that item through. But then I usually have 10 items or less and I’m usually not in any hurry.
People who DO NOT know how to use their “cards” or whatever electronic payments they are using. USE CASH – the line moves faster!
If I go through self checkout then should get maybe 2% off my bill. I did the work.
I’ll purposely wait in line to avoid the self-checkout machines. Many American retailers are scaling back their use of self-checkout and some states are considering emposing stricter laws in regards to self-checkout machines.
