I was going to say 2017. But there was nothing I
could do about the trauma of that year, on
this date.
The one year personally I prefer not to post, only
that we all deal with life and forgiveness in our own way.

year 1243. That was the year of my first child and wife. Was a good year eating the king’s royal hogs shot with bow in his royal forest.

1965, I just graduated from high school, Pleasant Hill High. Turned 18. legal age, at that time, to smoke. Enjoyed the summer at our cabin we had near Donner Summit off I-80. Attending Diablo Valley College and majoring in fine arts. Going to Rock concerts, including seeing The Beatles.

It’s difficult to pick one year, every year had its ups and downs, but
they were all a remarkable learning experience. I learned something
from every event in my life, and grew from it. So, if I have to pick just
one year, I will go with my first year of life, therefore I can appreciate it
one more time from the beginning.

1990 is good enough – I would have invested heavily in Apple & Microsoft

1960 something – the year I learned to walk. According to my parents I never crawled. I had places to go things to see and people to meet…

There are so many…… The year I met my wife and we got engaged was amazing. Then there was the year our first child was born. Then the year our second child was born. The year our third child was born. The year our fourth child was born. The year our fifth child was born. The year our first grandchild was born………..the years our second, third, fourth……………our sixteenth grandchild was born (which was last year). Of course, the first year mentioned made the rest of them possible. A blessed life.

As someone said each has it’s up and downs. I have had several years that was memorable for different reasons. I probably have to go with 1968, it was my second year as an au pair in Westport Ct. By then I was more comfortable with American customs, my English had improved and I made some really good friends. Girlfriends, other au pairs, one from Sweden, and one from Holland, to this day we stay in touch. Memorial Day of that year I ran into a guy I had dated the summer before and that I was kind of crazy about, he was back in Westport for the summer, (he was going to college in Miami) he asked me out again and I was overjoyed. However, just a month later when I was with a girlfriend at a local favorite hangout, I met someone, that after talking to him for just a short time, there were fireworks. He asked me out and we had tempestuous, passionate love affair for the next 2 years. After that we stayed friends, he was always there for me even though he was on the East Cost and I was on the West coast. When I saw the movie “The Big Chill”, I felt the same as they did. A great group about 6-7 of us, having fun, going to the beach, partying but also hanging on to each other as assassinations took our heroes, Martin Luther King and Bobby Kennedy. It was a magical and horrible year all at the same time. And of course, the war in Vietnam. one of my best friends still to this day had served in Vietnam I met him in the late summer of 67. In fact someone from Westport who writes a blog and wrote about some people I knew, wrote my story, how I came to Westport etc. He wrote about several people I knew the guy that went to Miami U, and he asked if he could interview me, I agreed. It can be found my googling Hanne Jeppesen Westport, Ct The Big Chill. The next summer I was in New York and that too was magical, but 68 stands out.
