Raising Cane’s Coming To Walnut Creek, Replacing Wendy’s On North Main St.

The longtime Wendy’s restaurant on North Main Street in Walnut Creek is set to close next week and make way for a new fast-food chain entering the area. According to an employee at the restaurant, the Wendy’s location will permanently close on May 12, 2026. The building is expected to be demolished, with a new Raising Cane’s restaurant planned for the site. The property, located along the busy North Main Street corridor, has been home to Wendy’s for several decades, and is a familiar stop for commuters and local residents. Once construction is complete, Raising Cane’s – known for its chicken fingers, crinkle-cut fries and signature sauce – will take its place. An official timeline for demolition and construction has not yet been announced, and it is unclear when the new restaurant will open to the public. Raising Cane’s has continued expanding throughout California in recent years, often drawing large crowds and long drive-thru lines when new locations open.
