Which is the best Republic candidate for governor of California and why?
We need to turn this ship around but also need to be informed.

Chad Bianco is meant for bigger things than Sheriff, but Hilton is a more qualified candidate for governor IMHO
I know a bit more of Hilton than I do Bianco. Of what I know about each, either would be phenomenally better representing the legal citizens of California than all of the other candidates combined (all 62 or so others). Either way, they will still be highly limited in what they can do to move this state back to a more free state with the legislature that will be in place.

Of the 12 Republicans running for governor this year, Steve Hilton is the best candidate. Chad Bianco can’t win a statewide election in California. The other 10 Republicans are all minor candidates without any name recognition.

Of the 24 Democrats running for governor this year, San Jose Mayor Matt Mahan and former California State Assembly Speaker and former Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa appear to be the best Democrats running, of the other 22, 4 are major candidates still running, and the other 18 have either stopped campaigning, stopped campaigning and endorsed other candidates, or are minor candidates without any name recognition.
One thing to take into account when voting, Chad Bianco took a knee
alongside BLM in protest of the killing of George Floyd. He claims it
was an attempt to keep the peace and to prevent riots in other cities.
Personally, I don’t care what his excuse is, as far as I’m concerned it’s
not much different from when Jane Fonda cozied up to the NVA and the
VC. For those of you that are too young to remember, in 1972 Jane Fonda
traveled to North Vietnam where she met with the NVA (North Vietnamese Army)
and with the VC (Viet Cong.) She was there to support their war effort against
the United States. Ever since that day, she has been known as “Hanoi Jane,”
and Mr Bianco should be known as “BLM Chad.” A traitor is a traitor, and they
cannot ever be trusted again.

Appointed Contra Costa County Treasurer-Tax Collector Dan M. Mierzwa is running unopposed, so please just don’t vote for him because he’s the only name on the ballot, unless you really want him, otherwise write in a name. These people in office always resign before their terms are up so that the appointed candidate has a better chance of winning reelection, because they don’t want the public choosing the person in office, they want the County Supervisors choosing the person to hold the office. The same is also true at the state, special district, and city levels of our government.

Gerrymandering is nothing new, it’s been going on for almost 240 years, the only difference from last year to this year, is that we’re now seeing a more extreme version of it. The U.S. Supreme Court made gerrymandering worse with decisions they made in the 1960s, by overturning 175 years of precedent when they created the “One Man/Person, One Vote” rule, which has absolutely nothing to do with the number of times a person votes, but mandated “close to equal population districts” for U.S. House and State Legislative seats/districts. We’d be better off if we went back to district lines being drawn on the existing geographical boundaries of counties, cities, and naturally occurring geographic landforms. This would limit any need for drawing or gerrymandering district lines to the boundaries within individual counties or several counties combined together to form a district. For State Legislative seats we should return to the “little federalism” model of apportionment, where the upper house districts are based on county lines and equal representation, with each county being represented by the same number of senators, and the lower house being represented by population with districts being drawn within individual counties.

We really won’t know if a legislative body has written a law or an executive has signed a law violating the U.S. or State Constitutions until the courts rule on them, that’s why some of the current gerrymandering has been found to be constitutional in some states and unconstitutional in other states.

Presidents, Congress, Governors, and State Legislators have all taken an oath to the U.S. Constitution and/or their State Constitution as they’ve been defined by the U.S. Supreme Court and/or State Supreme Courts or equivalent high court of the states, but once they’re in their executive or legislative roles they can attempt to change the meaning of the U.S. and/or State Constitutions, which is what they’re doing here. We can dislike it all we want, but this is how our systems of government are supposed to work.
Two laws come to mind that both were on their face a violation of 1st Amendment.
1) AB 2098 – classified a physician’s sharing of information about COVID-19—contrary to the consensus of the time—as “unprofessional conduct,” allowing the Medical Board of California to punish them. The law was very quietly repealed in SB 815 after California realized their legislation was untenable in court. A blatant violation of Doctor’s free speech.
2) California SAFETY Act (AB 1955) This law had prohibits school districts from requiring teachers or staff to disclose a student’s sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression to parents without the student’s consent. Ruled unconstitutional under the California Constitution. Another blatant violation of Teacher’s free speech.
Compiled or restricted speech, is not Free Speech and anyone with half a wit knew it.
At least 21 Fox News hosts, contributors or on-air personalities have been appointed to federal positions by President Trump during his current term i office. Does Trump ever watch anything else on TV?

Former President Gerald Rudolph “Jerry” (Leslie Lynch King) Ford Jr. went with a triangle shape for his museum. Former President James Earl “Jimmy” Carter Jr. went with a series of circular shaped buildings for his library and museum. Former President William Jefferson “Bill” (Blythe) Clinton went with a bridge designed building for his presidential center and park. Former President Barack Hussein Obama II went with a “diversity” tower for his presidential center.
