Greetings, All – and hopes for a great weekend for everybody!
I commented on n the post about robbery at Sun Valley Mall. Mentioned that l’m considering moving to Clear Lake. A couple of Claycorder were kind enough to warn me about the area. The Scandinavian Club owns a cabin 1 mille down the road from Konocti. From 1984 through 2005 l spent 4-5 weekends there from mid May through first week in Oct. Since 2005 l have been up there several times, just not as frequently (don’t party as much as l use to). Some of my friends from the club have already moved up there. The past 10 or more years it has changed, lots of wineries, nice restaurants in Kelseyville and Lakeport. As for going to the grocery store in the morning and buying alcohol or not, I’m not a morning person,,but when l go in the afternoon l do buy wine.

Before making the decision to move to Lake County you should spend some time there in the winter to see how you like it, if you haven’t already done so.

Wineries in the United States are in crises as wine consumption has been declining for the last 5 years. Younger adults aren’t consuming as much wine as older Americans due to their preference for other alcoholic beverages. So, those vineyards may not survive in the long term.
I have been there in late fall. Frankly growing up in Denmark, and spending 6 years on the East Coast I can pretty much put up with any weather in California. I retract that I have a girl friend that lives in Palm Desert, too hot and dry most of year, and a probably at this age don’t want to shovel snow.
Wineries might be in a crisis, but they still make the landscape look very nice. I wasn’t planning on working in one. One of my good friends from The Scandinavian Club moved to Clear Lake from San Carlos about 15 years ago, bought a house, she is quite happy up there, made friends, even go married even though she is a senior citizen as am I. Anyway, thank you for your input.
