The Contra Costa Resource Conservation District is offering funding assistance to help farmers and ranchers address illegal dumping problems on agricultural properties throughout Contra Costa County. Through the Farm and Ranch Solid Waste Cleanup and Abatement Grant program, the organization has $30,000 available to support the removal and prevention of illegally dumped waste on agricultural lands.
Officials said the funding is intended to help landowners clean up existing dumping sites and implement measures to prevent future incidents, which can create environmental hazards, damage property, and interfere with agricultural operations. The program is available to farmers and ranchers dealing with illegal dumping issues on their properties. The Contra Costa RCD is encouraging affected landowners to apply for assistance while funding remains available. Additonal information is available at this link.
Eliminate dump fees for non-business residents and the incentive to just toss the trash along the road will be removed.

I bet not! You would still see the illegal dumping, we live in the bay area which is one of the most friendly areas besides Washington or Oregon for people that don’t give a crap about society and are just a problem and belong locked up!
Simple to solve, set up CCTV and employ security to patrol. Charge and convict all criminals loitering or committing crimes. No special tax needed to fund just enforce the LAW!!!
Dee,
.
Where did the article say a special tax is needed? How much would the thousands of cameras that would be needed to cover Contra Costa County actually cost to purchase, install, maintain, collect and store the recordings? How’re you going to get every jury to convict people just because they’ve been charged with a crime?
.
We always get the same answers:
MORE CAMERAS!!!
MORE SURVEILLANCE!!!
MORE POLICE!!!
MORE GOVERNMENT!!!
.
So many Claycordians, Contra Costans, Californians, and Americans simply HATE FREEDOM!!!
Offer decent Reward$ and you’ll see the Techie types take care of it. Think of how they set up the cameras from ‘The Cove’.
I don’t want my tax dollars going towards this – this is an enforcement issue – cite, and prosecute!
