Reminds me of an episode of Bewitched. Aunt Clara was trying to help Samantha impress Darrin’s mother with a delicious Coq au vin dinner, which she conjured up on her second try, with the first try having a live chicken in the pot. Anyway, it’s a cute episode.

When I was a kid in the 60’s there was an old guy on the other side of the orchard who raised all kinds of birds like ducks, geese, quail, exotic chickens, pheasants and peacocks.
Most of the birds were fairly noisy but the peacocks were the loudest and they started in early which didn’t bother me any since I was up early delivering the Green Sheet 7 days a week.
If the birds weren’t loud enough there was a donkey that lived 2 blocks away who liked to sing “HEE HAW HEE HAW” over and over at full volume several times a day, every day…. it always made me laugh.
The street paving on Denkinger Rd. between Clayton Rd. and Wilson Ln. has been completed and is a welcome improvement – thanks to the City of Concord for getting this done. But I am baffled by the lane striping on both sides of the road. Heading North – East, the driving lane runs right into the driveway to the LDS church parking lot, with no bike lane. And in the South – West direction, the driving lane is very close to the cars parked on the street, with no bike lane. And in the middle of the street, there is a huge “open area of nothing”. Can someone please explain?
