Jon-Benet Ramsey. It’s heartbreaking to see her elderly dad never giving up his fight for his beautiful daughter who lost her life so tragically at such a young age. The parental pain is unimaginable.

Why Unsolved Mysteries was taken off the air??

Wasn’t the same after Robert Stack.

Why is my 2-houses-away neighbor’s TV so loud?

Zodiac.

There are too many to list, but you asked for local mysteries, so I will
keep it short. The Doodler was a serial killer in San Francisco who
was never caught. In the 70s he would pick up men in gay bars and
kill them. Another serial killer was The Zodiac Killer, who also was never
caught, he operated in the late 60s murdering people around the Bay Area.
And the three escapees from Alcatraz who were never found.

It’s national, but then it’s also local too. Who killed JFK. I remember coming home from elementary school and telling my mom that the president is dead. She was aghast and and said what? I said turn on the TV. When it happened the school put through the news to every classroom on the PA system. A number of teachers were crying. I was a bit too young to know what it meant but over the next 1-2 weeks that was all that was on TV. Only had channels ABC CBS and NBC and PBS. Lot’s of analysis since then but …..

Lisa Dickenson went missing 50 years ago. She was going to be entering the 4th grade at long closed San Miguel Elementary (currently Berean Christian). Just her bike was found in Heather Farms. I don’t know if her parents are still alive but it would be nice if they could receive some closure.

Don’t forget in 1989 13-year old Ilene Misheloff, vanished walking home from school in Dublin.

I remember that case, I was going to mention it. I think there were one or two other children that went missing in the eighties, one I think was named Amber, forgot if she was from Pinole or Antioch, and also don’t remember if years later the found out who did it or at least a strong suspicion

Amber Schwartz Garcia(solved), Michela Garrick(solved), Kevin (from San Francisco) The really sad story of the niece who was rescued from her mother only to be kidnapped and killed.(solved) Kenneth Parnell was responsible for several missing children in the area – including Steven Stayner. The Speed Freak killers may have been responsible for some of them as well – those are most likely the “unsolved” ones.

… 1. JFK assassination – not local to Claycord country but still in the mystery files (UFO files being released – why not the hidden files on the assassination?) ….. 2. Near Bodega Bay -we had 7,000 very rural acres for a group of us for years (camping, fishing, etc.) we got to know the area like the back of our hand … several years ago a guy murdered his wife and disposed of her body on our property… CHP sealed off the area for weeks and couldn’t locate the body. We offered to help locate but were denied despite knowing all the hidden spots, etc. … never could get a reason why we were refused – body was never recovered… very strange circumstances and how it was handled.

In Fresno, Krista Ann Hambrock. It was Dec. 1980 when Krista, age 20, left her dorm at Fresno State to go for walk. It was after 10:30 pm. She was found about an hour later behind Shakey’s Pizza. She had been stabbed and died at the hospital shortly after. It still is unsolved.

Concord’s unsolved murders.

The March 27, 1987 murder of Philip Mauritius Zilversmit at 1735 Pine Street in Concord.
.
The December 17, 2005 murder of Jesus Escamilla Gallegos at 1450 Monument Boulevard in Concord.

Just remember another one Kevin Collins, I looked it up, he disappeared in San Francisco, and was never found and no suspect. I remember all these because my daughter was born in 1980, so it hit home, whenever a child or teenager disappeared.

Why “newcomers” feel the need to blast their music at max volume with the windows down every time the get behind the wheel?

Because they’re still kids – cut them some slack. They’ll mature after life slaps them around for a bit.
