Concord police made dozens of arrests between May 20 and May 26, including several involving burglary, domestic violence, assault, drug offenses, DUI, and outstanding warrants, according to department records.
Among the more serious cases, officers arrested individuals on suspicion of burglary, assault with a deadly weapon, battery causing serious bodily injury, child cruelty, domestic violence, possession of stolen property, possession of burglary tools, and possession of controlled substances for sale. Several arrests also involved felony probation or parole violations.
Police also made numerous DUI arrests throughout the week, including incidents on Monument Boulevard, Willow Pass Road, Diamond Boulevard and other locations around the city. Several drivers were additionally cited for driving without a license, reckless driving, evading police, or driving on a suspended license.
The department’s burglary report shows nine burglary cases and several shoplifting incidents were reported during the same period. Burglaries targeted a residence, a commercial office building, rental storage facilities, a department store, and a clothing retailer. Shoplifting incidents were reported at businesses in the Sunvalley area, along Clayton Road, Diamond Boulevard, and downtown Concord. No burglaries were reported on May 26.
Other arrests during the week involved trespassing, public intoxication, vandalism, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, open-container violations, contempt of court, and numerous misdemeanor and felony warrants.
Whole lotta plea bargaining and charge dropping gonna be happening.
First off great job concord pd for doing a heck of a job getting these low life losers off the streets.
These issues are due to stupid state and city policies. Notice how much worst these issues have become since adding these lower income / affordable housing all around. All we’re doing is bringing in other cities rift raft and then now becoming our cities problem. City council needs to stop this. We need more businesses not more crime infested affordable housing.
It would be very interesting to see the locations of the residential burglaries.
I believe the Concord Police Department is a wonderful organization. As a group, they are fine people doing a great job for the community.
I am disappointed with the lack of communication. The people who pay the taxes deserve to know what the department is doing. How is the department responding to various CFS, upgrades, improvements, advanced training, and positive use of the taxpayers’ funds?
I’d also like to hear what is going on in my neighborhood. I can listen to police calls from towns and cities 5-10 miles away, or across the country, but not a peep from the police station blocks from my home.
That’s why a citizen oversight committee should be in place to maintain communication between the CPD and the community.
