I walked in, exchanged pleasantries with the ladies working the desk and dropped my ballot in the box, then I went on my way in a mannerly fashion.

If you want a change to California and you voted Becerra. You are the reason California is going from the Penthouse to the out house

USA JIM,
.
Unfortunately, last night California voters decided that Xavier Becerra will be the next Governor of California. Currently, the 24 Democrats running captured about 57% of the vote, while the 12 Republicans only captured 40% of the vote. The November general election will result in similar percentages for the two candidates.

In person.

No Democrats.
No new taxes.
No new bonds.

But, the Democrats will win, and the taxes and bonds will pass and the residents will continue to wonder why California is the laughing stock of the country and people keep leaving our once beautiful state. We used to be the envy of the world, now we’re the punchline.

At least my wife and I were able to be raised here during the CA heyday. On one hand we knew CA when it was spectacular, on the other hand we know how badly it’s been governed to get us here.

whatever,
.
Currently, the Measure B sales tax is failing 59.04% to 40.96%, which is a margin of 29,182 votes. The Measure G bond is also currently failing 53.22% to 46.78%, it needs 55% to pass, which is a margin of 10,534 votes.
.
If you voted all Republican, you must’ve had to write-in a lot of names in the county and local section of the ballot.

I’m voting in person because I think it’s how it should be done and I don’t really trust any other method.

We dropped our ballots at Martinez City Hall last week.

We dropped our ballots at the Concord City Hall toilet. hehe…errr ballot box. They had a honey bucket portable outhouse in the parking lot near the ballot drop-off. Several homeless people were hanging out nearby. Felt a bit uneasy dropping it off.

Reasonable,
.
I’ve watched the homeless go into the Honey Bucket with their bicycles at this location. 🚲

Dropped our ballots in the box at WC city hall with the “return receipt” notification that it was received & counted

Ballot was mailed to us and all 3 of us returned it
to the election office.

A couple of weeks ago by drop off, the post office is notorious for losing mail.

Dawg,
.
I’ve been told there’s a lot of mail theft that takes place when the mail is processed in Oakland and that the supervisors in the Oakland Post Office don’t care.

Since a box is close to my house, I drop it off. Less burden for US Mail. I held my nose and dropped it in the box. Look forward to online voting one day. My banking is secure don’t know why they can’t figure out voting. Would save a lot of money and better for the planet!!! The savings could go into our schools (AKA Teachers Union). LOL. What a joke process, putting my little piece of paper in the mail while all these groups spend 74 million to sway things to get what they want. Democracy?

Dropped it off at the nearby country buildings just off Center in Martinez. There is a ballot drop off box there. The last time I voted in person I had to drive two miles for some reason when there was a voting place right around the corner. I think they wanted to discourage this neighborhood from voting.

Captain Bebops,
.
You should’ve asked for a provisional ballot at the polling place by your house. Was your polling place moved from where you voted in-person before?

Mail. Realized I use the same analogy for voting as I use for paying bills.

Ballots come, don’t wait (knowing early what candidate and/or prop I’m saying yes or no to, then get it off the desk and walk into the post office to mail.

Bills they come, pay get off the desk or bp or whatever.

Yes, It was dropped in a drop box. I received a notice that it was received.

I went to the 4 voting places near me and voted at all of them which was easy because there’s no ask for ID. Just kidding. I voted by mail 3 weeks ago.

Paranoid pablito,
.
Had you actually gone to four voting locations and voted you only would’ve voted on provisional ballots, which likely wouldn’t have been counted, unless you had registered to vote under four different names, with four different state issued ID numbers or the last four numbers of four different social security numbers.

Yes I sure did!

FOR ALL REPUBLICAN’S. We need some major shakeup and changes to fix this run down dump of a state.

City_Guy,
.
You must’ve had a lot of write-in votes in all of those county races.

My wife and I voted in-person. Polling place not very busy at 12:15.

10

There was speculation that the large number of gubernatorial candidates would create a low turnout due to disinterest.

Captain Bebops,
.
The current statewide voter turnout is currently 22.4% and the current countywide turnout is 23.88%, but we have another 37 days of vote counting to go.

“…….another 37 days of vote counting to go”. And just how sorry and ridiculous is that?

Cyn,
.
That’s because it’s not just about counting ballots, it’s about curing ballots.

Voted in person at 7pm. I prefer voting in person.

10

It’s not who votes, that counts.
It’s who counts the votes.

By mail last week
Thank God I don’t have see another Tom Steyer commercial

Kelley,
.
At least you won’t have to see another Tom Steyer ad this election year. The word is that he may be running for a House seat in the future and we live in the San Francisco media market, so we’ll see his commercials.

Such a joke that anyone can vote in this corruption filled State, we deserve so much better here in CA.

Don’t trust the system, question it!!!

My family drops ours off in Martinez, and I don’t even trust that. The people whom count our votes are suspect as anything, and there is no way in hell that I’m trusting a mail carrier, teacher, or a few church ladies to do the right thing.

6

Duck,
.
Beware, if your signature on your mail-in/absentee ballot has changed since you registered to vote, there’s a good chance that your ballot won’t be counted. In presidential election years, prior to the 2020 election, between 1%-2% of ballots weren’t counted due to errors, like signatures not matching on mail-in/absentee ballot envelopes.

So I voted by mail, and I did not vote for 2 candidates who were running unopposed. Shockingly, the results show that those candidates received 100% of the votes. What am I missing?

Why waste time,
.
Unless a candidate is running a write-in campaign and has notified the Contra Costa County Clerk-Recorder that they’re running a write-in campaign they don’t post/count write-in votes.
