Four people were shot including a child and one person was killed Wednesday evening when gunfire broke out at a high school graduation in Fairfield, officials said.
Officers with the Fairfield Police Department spoke with reporters Wednesday night and said four people had been shot at the Sem Yeto High School graduation at Fairfield High School around 7:15 p.m. and that an 18-year-old died from their injuries. The shooting happened at the ending of the ceremony in the parking lot in what police are calling a “large scale incident.”
Fairfield Police Officer Michelle Belyea said the other people shot were ages 11, 20 and 25. All are being treated at the hospital and their current conditions were not known.
No one was in custody and police were actively looking for the suspected shooter at about 9 p.m.
At an 11 p.m. update from Belyea, she did not comment on whether anyone was in custody but said there was no threat to the community.
Parents must also be held accountable for not teaching morals and values early on.
Talk things out….How about learning conflict resolution. Kids have schools and parents hoovering over them constantly. Kids need from a third or fourth grade level to figure out personality conflicts on their own. Instead, they go through school until semi adulthood and someone says something they don’t like and pull out a gun

So, you just want to give up the constitutiinal rights of every American for unwarranted search and seizure. I suppose that you want to give up the rest of our rights to the government, too. You’re part of the problem, your another American who hates FREEDOM!!! The answer is always the same from FREEDOM hating Americans, more cameras, more surveillance, more searches, more seizures, more police, and more government!!!
The clear and easy solution is to enforce the law. No bleeding heart BS will solve the issue, we have laws for murder, theft and many other crimes on the books already. Those that think pulling out a gun to settle a verbal argument deserve to be held accountable for murdering or attempting to murder that person. The only deterrence for criminal behavior is to hold them accountable. These people aren’t good citizens and don’t belong in society with the rest of us. Freedom shouldn’t mean tolerating crime and criminals.

I never said the person shouldn’t be held accountable for committing crimes. When you live in a free society, sometimes bad things happen. Would you rather live with freedom where bad things sometimes happen, or would you rather give up your rights and freedoms with your hope and the governments promise that bad things won’t happen? I choose freedom where bad things sometimes happen.
If they had metal detectors there would probably have been far fewer people attending the graduation.
I wonder how many of you were ever actually asked to show a high school diploma to a prospective employer?
