Drivers should plan for delays on Byron Highway later this month as Contra Costa County Public Works crews install rumble strips designed to improve safety along the corridor. The work is scheduled to take place between Byron Hot Springs Road and Bruns Road from Monday, June 15, through Thursday, June 18, weather permitting. Construction hours will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. Traffic control measures and lane closures will be in place during working hours, and motorists should expect delays of 20 to 30 minutes. Electronic message boards will be posted in advance to notify drivers of the upcoming work. County officials said the rumble strips are being installed to increase driver awareness and enhance safety for motorists traveling through the busy commute route.
Rumble strips? …. it needs 2 lanes each way… it’s dangerous the way it is… passing is taking your life in your own hands
