Residents across Concord and much of Central Contra Costa County should prepare for the hottest weather of the year so far, with temperatures expected to climb into the triple digits later this week. After a relatively mild start to the week, forecasters say temperatures will rise sharply beginning Wednesday. Concord is expected to reach the mid-90s Wednesday before peaking around 100 to 102 degrees Thursday, making it one of the hottest days of 2026 so far. Temperatures are then expected to ease slightly into the low 90s Friday and through the weekend. The National Weather Service says inland portions of the East Bay, including Concord, could experience the Bay Area’s first triple-digit temperatures of the year as a strong area of high pressure settles over Northern California. Nearby cities including Clayton, Pleasant Hill, Walnut Creek, Martinez, Pittsburg and Antioch are also expected to see temperatures well into the 90s, with some locations potentially reaching or exceeding 100 degrees during the peak of the heat.

So today – Monday almost feels like it’s going to rain! Wouldn’t mind it.
The weather modification planes were up this morning changing today’s forecast which was supposed to be warmer to cooler. I wouldn’t be surprised therefore that the high temps might not occur this week.

Put bottled water in freezer, will help freezer stay cool if power goes out.
If you have to be outside put frozen bottles in back pockets, gives you
contact cooling and cool melted water to sip.
