Worst, jobs dealing with the public

Best, Union industrial electrician.
Best? various positions t a large telecommunications company – then as a DMV Examiner ….. worst? toss-up. fixing flat tires on cars when they still had inner tubes without pneumatic equipment or dishwasher at a lazy spoon restaurant
The best jobs I ever had was when I was a machinist working at the
Bethlehem Steel Shipyard in the City. Building new ships and working
on older ships was interesting and fun. I didn’t realize how massive
they are until I stood under them while they were in dry dock.
Job #2 was after I retired and went back to school to study nursing.
I specialized in drug addiction, where I had the opportunity to help
those less fortunate.
The worst job was when I was starting out as a machinist. My first week
in a machine shop was going fine until some butthead who wasn’t my
boss thought he could boss me around because he had seniority,
I had no problem telling him to stick it in his ear, and walked off the job.
Best: Executive Business Banker Consultant for Small and Corporate Businesses.
Worst: Anything tedious /boring.
Best job was a 30 year career in the fire service. Worst job is a tie between two jobs I had right out of high school. One was moving furniture and the other was working in a salmon cannery in Chignic Alaska.
Ski instructor, then a travel guide. didn’t make much money, but there were other benefits…wink, wink!!!
I’ve had some cool jobs over the years. I’m going with the Hunters Point hazwaste cleanup because I learned how to drive 10-wheelers and operate heavy equipment.
The worst job award goes to the clerical support position after I got laid off and needed to work. You can have your artificial lighting and smiley glad hands politics.
I was unaware of how political our public education system is until being immersed in it.
Worst job, official title: oiler. I oiled and greased pear peeling machines 6 days a week one summer in the Santa Clara Valley while I was a university student.
Best job, official title: Systems Engineer at NASA. It was a great place to work and very interesting, challenging and intellectually stimulating. We were working on things that had never been done before.
Worst: working in the office for Steven Matthew David, Top of the Hill in Daly City.
Hard to say. When I wanted to go to Israel on work on a kibbutz I had 3 month to make the money I needed for the trip and pocket money. So, I took a job in a factory, which meant I had to get up about 4:30 am or so and ride my bike 10 miles, I started in April, and the weather in Denmark in April is often fairly cold and rainy. After I worked hard for 3 months, my parents did give me some extra money. On the kibbutz was paid for. We picked apples, and although it wasn’t a fun job (snakes in the trees and all kinds of critters) however, we were in Israel in the Golan Heights, and we had fun (we were 45 young Danish people on my kibbutz) between ourselves and also with the young people from the kibbutz. We worked from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. then again in the afternoon from 2:30 to 5:00 p.m. Due to the heat, we didn’t work during the hottest time. Selling long term care insurance was the best job I had. I didn’t like getting on the phone and setting appointments, but the rest I liked. I believed in what I was selling, I had clients in Napa, Sonoma, Solano County and Contra Costa County and others. I also like the flexibility, and the perks. I year I sold enough to qualify for a free cruise to Mexico, the next year a one-week trip to London and England. In addition to the commission sometimes we would get extra bonuses from some of the insurance companies. I worked at Macy’s for the first time in 1991 and hated it. I hated the retail schedule, interfered with my dating schedule and I was a single mother. When I went back to work at Macy’s in 2010, I actually liked, the customers were nice, co workers were nice. I was done dating and my daughter was out on her own. As I got older I didn’t need the challenge I needed earlier.
