QUESTION: Have you noticed more or fewer homeless people in Contra Costa County over the past year?

… about the same… what I do see are a lot more fires started in the homeless camp areas at our expense – when its hot like this firefighters shouldn’t have to deal with the homeless arson…. what’s that expression – drain the swamp? ….I don’t understand the reluctance – local politicos would get a lot more kudos from cleaning it up than the feeding of the swamp that they’re doing now

Must be nice not having to worry about elections.

I see more than ever, especially at BART.

Not on my side of the tracks. The homeless seem to cluster around the downtown area on the other side. I think our government has just failed miserably for providing an environment of opportunity or survival in tough times. That’s not including the about 20% who do have mental problems which instead of helping them they’re given medication which dulls the mind, makes them depressed and of course they don’t want to feel that way so go off that medication and become wilder again. Modern medicine is about the money anyway, not about helping.

I don’t know about the entire county, but where I live in Concord, I’m seeing
less camp sights. But I still see them on the streets acting crazy and having
a conversation with themselves, or standing near a freeway entrance or exit
holding their cardboard signs asking for money. There’s one guy who’s usually
shirtless, and just about every day, he’s walking up and down the center island
on Clayton Rd at Market St. He doesn’t seem to bother anybody, he just walks
up and down the island.

Walking up and down the medium while traffic is present is a danger to everyone. They shouldn’t be out on the street loitering period it is unacceptable and that is the message we should be sending instead of electing the same people in for decades!

Somewhere between the same and more, but it’s difficult to tell with the homeless being on the constant move.

There was just an article stating that homeless is up 7% so absolutely not! I work on Concord Ave right by the 242 on ramp and they have not cleaned up crap literally! Our CCTV doesn’t lie! They just want you to think that the money they are stealing for themselves is going to good use!!! They could very easily solve this issue but don’t want to! They will just continue to pull out that card when they need it and pull on those heart strings to reach into your pockets. But yet the same tired old cast gets to circle jerk each other steal our cash and get voted back in time after time.

More than ever.
It always happens in an election year.

They’re everywhere. I don’t know if there are more or fewer, but it’s a serious problem. If only there was a solution for the sanity of us all.

More.
I think the word has gotten out around the country and the HOBO people are heading to California for easy pickins… soft Cops & Courts, lots of Social Services run by BHLs.
I’d love to see them all surveyed to see where they’ve come from and how long they’ve been here. They are human ticks and us taxpayers are the hosts.

Dr. Jellyfinger,
.
The Hobo and nomadic lifestyle among America’s young is on the rise.

Human Occupants Beneath Overpasses

Newsom has fixed it.
Only unhoused that I have seen have been MAGA
from red states trying to make Gavin look bad.

Are you newscum? If so you haven’t fixed squat! Where is the money for the homeless and the high speed rail? So many more questions about your leadership! Do you really think that in a general election your accomplishments will get you across that finish line? How about those fecal footprints, are you going to grin ear to ear again kinda spitting in our faces? Why do you always default to “Orange Man Bad” every time your corruption is exposed? Red states don’t have the problems you have created and it most definitely isn’t much of a task to make you look bad when you have been useless going all the way back to your time as SF mayor. Just go join auntie Nacy and her perverted husband and slither back under that rock!

Rcp,
.
How is it that you’ve been able to “see” who the homeless are politically and what states the came from?

They do seem to choose blue tarps over red.

The State and Local Governments have given BILLIONS to NGO’s to solve a problem that if solved would put those same NGO’s out of a very lucrative business.
