Contra Costa County officials will break ground next week on what will become the county’s first mental health rehabilitation center, a new facility designed to provide longer-term treatment and support for adults with severe psychiatric conditions.
The Contra Costa Recovery Center, a 45-bed facility, will offer around-the-clock care for individuals who need extended stabilization and rehabilitation services beyond what is typically available through acute psychiatric care. County officials say the center will help fill a critical gap in the local mental health care system.
A groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for 1 p.m. on June 17 at 847B Brookside Drive in Richmond, on the Brookside Shelter campus.
Among those expected to attend are Contra Costa County Supervisor John Gioia and Dr. Grant Colfax, chief executive officer of Contra Costa Health, along with other county leaders and community stakeholders.
Once completed, the facility is expected to provide high-quality, 24-hour treatment and recovery services aimed at helping residents with serious mental health challenges achieve greater stability and independence.
Sounds great on paper but how much tax payer money and fraud will come out of this?

Lie number one County hospital in Martinez had one and they shut it down in the 1980’s and released most of them to the local streets and for rest of them they took the old freshly renovated travelers hotel which was supposed to be for low income seniors screwed them over and put the rest of the numbers in there and downtown Martinez paid the price for its lies scams mismanagement and money in back pockets straight up all to the city and county scam POS!! And 45 beds are you kidding me what is that gonna do for an entire county of 5150 that this county has allowed to collapse into the zombie apocalypse!!!!! The first mental health rehabilitation center should be in Martinez.
Every county elected politician should be admitted and diagnosed.
I would not be surprised if all of them were not fit for office.
