While I won’t say its the best thing about getting older, I do appreciate getting the discount fares on transportation. In the Bay Area. the senior Clipper card gives you 50% off automatcally of all Bart, bus and ferry boat trips. The general best thing is the wisdom and good intuition you develop over a lifetime-
Wisdom. It should be bottled and sold.
Let you know when I get there. … still too young, 🙂
Only going to be 70 next year. Check back when I’m 80.

The best thing about getting older is getting Amazonesia:
When the package arrives and you have no idea what you ordered. 🤣
Happens several time a week,
… getting to 21 to legally buy liquor…. after that … nothing
As long as you don’t start breaking out in, SPOTS
Been there, done that = wisdom.
After years of cumulative events, both positive and negative, I got smarter
and wiser. With decades of life’s experiences behind me, I have learned
what really matters in my life, and have learned how to deal with life’s
challenges on a more level-headed approach. As long as my words and
actions don’t hurt anybody, and given that I don’t owe anybody an
explanation, I will do and say what want to do and say without feeling
the need to argue to make a point. Throughout the years, I have learned
to not give a damn about what people, especially people I don’t know, think.
I simply don’t care anymore.
I will live my life as I see fit, and they can live their life… Live and let live.
Being able to attend all of my kids high school
sports
The Water Cooler, now runs, cold and HOT ! ! !

No more full time work, kept going until they made it no longer FUN.
Was fortunate enough to have a portable skill set that was in demand.
Industrial Electrician, where no two days were the same. Trouble
shooting electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems in a heavy
industrial setting. No more three thirty AM phone calls, “It’s Broke ! ! “

Started 401k early and maxed it for a decade or so, then let it coast
and grow thru compounding. These days help out Son, Daughter
and two Grandsons and their three kids.

These days, don’t move as well as I used to, but that’s what recliners
with massage, heat and power tilt up are for. TV on the left, computer
on the right and the garden out the sliding glass door.

On top of it all, a Wife that is a really good cook.
Life is good, s l o w e r , but good.
Not giving a $#!t what anybody thinks of you!!!

Dad used to say, “Instead of the ‘Golden Years,’ it should be the ‘Rusty Years.’ He was right.
With hobbies you are passionate about, eventually your knowledge becomes encyclopedic. You really are at the top of your game.
And when a grandchild takes an interest, they absorb every bit of knowledge you have to offer. However they apply that knowledge using new and exciting tools, like 3D printers etc.
Very rewarding.
