Drivers crossing the Golden Gate Bridge will pay more starting July 1, when toll rates increase by 50 cents across all payment options. The new rates will be $10.25 for FasTrak account holders, $10.50 for Pay-As-You-Go customers using license plate accounts or one-time payments, and $11.25 for drivers who receive a toll invoice. The carpool toll will increase to $8.25. Bridge officials said the increase is part of a multi-year toll adjustment program previously approved by the Golden Gate Bridge Board of Directors.

Higher tolls and especially ones on bridges that were paid off decades ago are monuments to the idiocracy of the opportunistic nitwits who are in political office these days. They are too stupid to balance budgets and keep taxation down. That pavement in the picture looks a bit warn too.
Using a toll to maintain the bridge make sense to me. Using a toll to pay for politicians’ unrelated pet projects make no sense whatsoever!

Now ask yourself why on earth are you voting for the same people that actually accomplish nothing not a single thing other than forcefully reaching into your pockets and stealing your hard earned money.
Fire the board of directors and save a lot of money.

p.s. Approximately 260,000 cars cross the bay bridge each day. Devide that in half and multiply that number by $8.00. Where does all that money go???
The bridges in CA bring in 2.4 million dollars per day and that is a great question! We know it went into grease boy’s pocket and his little dog he calls a wife just look at the DOJ investigation that started with Biden. Thankfully this fleabag can’t run for governor again!
I’d like to see an independent 3rd party auditor go through the finances of all the bridges – I have to believe there are big bucks scraped off the top for pet projects and bonuses of the board members and others related to this fiasco. That is way too much money that would go to just maintenance.
When i was a kid the GG was $1.00 the Bay Bridge was 75 cents and the Benicia Bridge was 40 cents!!!

The board of directors are going to give themselves a raise with that money. The Golden Gate Bridge was supposed to be free after the collected tolls paid for the cost of the bridge.
Don’t cross the bridges unless absolutely necessary. I haven’t driven across the Golden Gate in at least 10 years.
