San Francisco Zoo Admission Drops To $3 For Low-Income Residents

Low-income San Francisco residents can now visit the San Francisco Zoo and Gardens for just $3 by showing a Medi-Cal or CalFresh card, Mayor Daniel Lurie announced. The discounted admission is part of the city’s Family Opportunity Agenda, which aims to reduce costs for working families and increase access to cultural and recreational attractions. Regular zoo admission ranges from $20 for children and $24 for seniors to $29 for adults on weekdays, with weekend and holiday prices running $2 higher. The city is also promoting its Museums for All program, which provides free or reduced admission to participating museums and attractions for residents receiving public benefits. Eligible visitors can receive up to four tickets by presenting an Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) or Medi-Cal card along with proof of San Francisco residency. Participating institutions include the Asian Art Museum, Cable Car Museum, Conservatory of Flowers, de Young Museum, Japanese Tea Garden, Legion of Honor, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and Walt Disney Family Museum.

The Dems have been saying it’s racist and unfair to the poor to show an ID to vote,
but they don’t have a problem with having the poor show an ID to enter the zoo and
museums.

The San Francisco Zoo just received a bailout from the City of San Francisco because they experienced a $7 million loss over the last two years. Is this ticket price reduction for low-income residents going to put the zoo on the path to sustainability?

Imagine how well off you would be if you identified as a former slave, low income deficient, cross dressing/gender whatever democrat.

You could have the world delivered to you on a silver platter while others serve you and give you all the rewards of their work.

This is as stupid as scam “Books for the Barrio”. Kids nowadays want an iphone and refuse to even touch books, even kids from poor third world nations. So free or welfare Zoo admission means nothing. Do you know how far the bus ride is from the Tenderloin, Fillmore, or Hunters Point to get to the Outer Sunset (Zoo)? Over an hour. They’d rather go to the local Ross store anyway. Libraries are free and in da hood but local kids do not want to go there. Give them some $$$ and they’d rather attend a concert by pedo Sean Diddler Combs or Kanye West than to attend a symphony. You can’t change people. They are what they are. Install more flock cameras in their hood to keep us safe.
