Not that I know of. We’ve never been victimized. We both have an “on it like white on rice” mentality. We don’t set ourselves up, but I do understand we can only do so much to keep thieves at bay. They’ll steal from anybody, including their own mother. We have to beat them at their own game and stay on top of everything we own.

In the 70s somebody stole the 8-track from my ’62 Impala, In those
days 8-tracks were mounted under the dash….easy pickens. I’ve also
had kids take the chrome valve caps from my tires so they can put
them on their bikes. Now I just use the regular black caps and nobody
wants them. When I got back from Vietnam, I was with my late wife and
some guy pulled a gun and attempted to rob us. Having just returned
from a war, and fearing for my wife’s safety, my military training took over
and I disarmed him. I ended up with a nice Colt 1911 .45 pistol, and let him
go, not a bad trade.

Bike stolen from my garage, briefcase stolen from my car (only lost about half a dozen CDs), and one Halloween, someone stole a “decorative” foot from a planter. Not sure any of these were targeted, more just random chance.

When I lived in Detroit, I lived in an apartment in a group about four miles north of Detroit. One night, my six month old Buick Regal was stolen, along with three other cars owned by people living in nearby apaI rtments. A few days later, I got a call from the Detroit PD saying they had found my car. Since I had another car, I drove to the site in a back alley in Detroit. As I walked down the alley, I encountered a dog pen with several dogs. I knew what kind of people lived around there when the dogs didn’t bark, but backed away and whimpered. A little farther down the alley I found my car stripped of the front end sheet metal, doors, and the trunk lid. It was sitting on concrete blocks, so the wheels were gone. When I checked the trunk, I found some business papers. That told me that the thieves had driven my car around for several days dropping off their gang members to steal other cars. When I called the guy whose papers I’d found in the trunk, he told me his car had been stolen several days after mine had been. I was really glad when I was able to get out of the Detroit area.

Someone tried to steal my car at the WC Bart station. They messed up the door and the ignition. Stole about $20 worth of change that I had in the armrest. They did leave a flashlight.
My wife had her window smashed and a bag of Goodwill donations taken. This happened in a church parking lot in Antioch.
My parents’ house was robbed 3 or 4 years ago. They were away and I was taking care of the mail and newspapers. I walked in on Mon at 5:15 and their back slider was shattered. They tossed all of the dressers, nightstands, and closets. They got away with some cheap costume jewelry. The cost of repairs was much higher than the thieves’ take.
Nobody was ever caught.

“Targeted by thieves?”… I assume you’re referring to other than the IRS, DMV, State of California, grocery stores, PG&E, etc.
They are more than thieves, they’re extortionists.

Shortly after my daughter got her license, someone broke her driver’s window to steal the iPod player that she had left hooked up. She learned from that experience.

Both, once they tried to steal my truck out of our driveway, another time our home was broken into, and they got away with some irreplaceable family heirlooms. F’n dirtbag’s, I’m sure it was the felon burglar that lived directly behind us. CPD would ask to get into our backyard once or twice a yr while they were serving a warrant on the puke, because he was a runner. Insurance paid us for or loss, but what the slimeball took can never be replaced. This was in Dana Estates about 3 yrs ago.
The Felons name is John, I’m sure some of you know of him, he’s a real dirtbag, I hope both him and his live in enabling girlfriend both rot in hell.
