The Concord Police Department is investigating a series of residential and vehicle burglaries that have occurred across the city over the past several weeks. According to police, the suspects have been targeting neighborhoods during the early morning hours by checking for unlocked vehicles. In several cases, they found garage door openers inside the vehicles, used them to open garage doors, and stole tools and other valuables.
Police released surveillance images of two people believed to be connected to the burglaries. In multiple incidents, the suspects were seen carrying handguns while outside garages. No confrontations with homeowners have been reported. Residents are urged to lock their vehicles, avoid leaving garage door openers or valuables inside, keep garage doors closed, and report any suspicious activity.
Anyone who recognizes the individuals in the surveillance images or has information about the burglaries is asked to contact the Concord Police Department at (925) 671-3333. Anonymous tips can also be submitted through Bay Area Crime Stoppers.
