…about a year and a half ago …. went but we were excused the first day right after the lunch break. There was a run where I was called almost every year for about 7 years – and yes, was called into an actual trial couple times. (WC & Martinez).
I thought applying for permeant excusal would be difficult due to the requirements listed on the court website. Was actual super-simple, and I received a notice confirming my status two days later.
Do not miss it at all.

two or three months ago. The card received stated I call the number after 5pm the day before to see if my group will be called up. I called and my group was not called up. Been years since I was calle.

The last time was 2016 and I served on the jury. I have been on 3. I haven’t had a summons since. For a while it seemed I was getting them every other year. I don’t mind.

I was on the federal grand jury for a year and a half, during 9/11. It was an eye opening experience. I saw first hand, the change in focus and behavior of the 9th circuit court, once the Patriot Act was passed. It was intense. So many things changed.

Same…did one one trial in WC and one in Martinez. I actually enjoy it as long as the trials aren’t too long.
