California Bill Would Bring Abortion Pill Access To Community Colleges

California community college students could gain access to the abortion pill through campus health centers under Assembly Bill 2540.

The bill would require community colleges with student health centers to offer access to the abortion pill beginning in 2029, but only if the Legislature provides funding. Colleges could meet the requirement through on-campus services, telehealth or partnerships with outside healthcare providers. Supporters say the measure would improve access for students who face transportation, cost or privacy barriers, while opponents argue many community college health centers lack the staffing, resources and infrastructure to provide the service.

The bill is estimated to cost between $7 million and $27.9 million in startup expenses, with annual costs of up to $9.3 million. AB 2540 is currently awaiting consideration by the Senate Appropriations Committee.

That is exactly what our tax dollars should be used for. I think these kids should be educated enough to go acquire their own contrception on their own dime.

Dee,
.
You’re contradicting yourself. First you said, “That is exactly what our tax dollars should be used for.” Then you said, “I think these kids should be educated enough to go acquire their own contrception on their own dime.” Which is it?

No I didn’t but say what you will. My point was tax dollars shouldn’t be spent on this garbage and our children are so dumb that they would need government love like this. Is that clear enough?

Dee,
.
Sure, you did. Try reading the first sentence of your first comment above. Why are you always so angry, rude, and gruff with your responses?

When are they going to be so bold as to cover access to “medical” marijuana? recreational crack? Complimentary case of beer for the weekend? All to be available at the local institution of higher learning. Does that estimate seem a bit broad to you guys? $7 – 27 million (a 3x spread), all presumably so a student can get a pill to terminate the life of her baby. And we get to foot that bill.

…and what next – high schools?

Young women don’t want kids since it’s unaffordable

Raising children has always been expensive that is nothing new. What the difference is that people want everything now and aren’t nearly as resourceful as they once were. Young people have come to expect the government to feed them. The problem is that if they feed you they will starve you. That is what my 56 years of experience has told me. I just block out the same rhetoric that has been shoved down my throat in shiny new packaging.

What are you saying!?! You can go get an abortion just about on every corner at every medical office in this state! They have literally made abortion contraception! That is what is disgusting and as a woman I find it utterly appalling!

I’m sure the After School Satan Clubs would be happy to provide sacrificial baby killer pills at Community Colleges leaving administration & taxpayers completely uninvolved.
The clubs are currently available only at primary schools but will soon debut at high schools and community colleges.

Why not offer them complimentary sterilization also?
That would certainly reduce the volume of repeat customers.
