Did you hear about the judge who gave the jaywalker a long sentence?
Jaywalking laws require that pedestrians obey traffic control signals unless otherwise instructed by law enforcement which, in addition to traffic signals, jaywalking laws dictate how pedestrians may legally cross the street when no signals are present and though many states require that pedestrians cross only at crosswalks, which can be designated by white lines, or can be unmarked, some state and local laws allow pedestrians to cross certain streets outside of a crosswalk, but require pedestrians to yield to any vehicles when doing so and generally, pedestrian traffic rules require that pedestrians yield to motorists any time they are outside of a crosswalk but many local jaywalking laws forbid crossing an intersection diagonally, unless traffic signals specifically allow diagonal crossing”.

We can file this under “it’s about time!”
Where did this happen?

Joke

I took my suit to the cleaners, who wanted to charge me $15.00. So I gave my suit to the charity shop next door.
They cleaned and pressed it and put it in the window.
I bought it for $4.50

Anyone besides me waking in the wee hours of the night to the smell of Clorox wafting through
your open window? I first noticed it a couple months ago, and thought maybe it was a dream,
or I was imagining it. Now it’s a couple times a week, at least. It’s not me. There’s bleach in
the air in North Concord! WTH?

Have not smelled a thing. Could it be a neighbor?

Meth lab fumes can smell like bleach.
Make note of direction wind is blowing and speed.
After several observations that are similar, call Police non emergency number
and let them know. IF person on other end of phone seems disinterested,
drop off a copy at front desk of Police station.
.
If it is a lab, could prevent lab explosion.

A swimming pool warming up on a cool night? 🥶

Are you anywhere near the water treatment plant? I believe it’s located on Bates Ave.
The smell could be from the chloramine they use to treat the water.

Sometimes the water coming from the tap smells like chlorine…especially in Winter, for some reason. I wonder?… Could it be?

No Excuses,
.
Yes, I’ve experienced the smell of chlorine on and off for several years in the area of North Concord.

I see that back on June 15 Claycord did a report on HazMat Chlorine leak. It got no comments and I didn’t see it. AI advises that Con Fire, HazMat teams do not report on which business had the leak/problem valve, if the air clears quickly…. Three (at least) facilities on Pike Ln use either chlorine or more likely fluorine in their manufacturing businesses.
I suspect they are “blowing off” in the middle of the night when winds are stronger … And it’s flowing right through the N. Concord area. It would be nice to actually have a relevant voice in situations like this. I wonder if BAAQMD does any surveillance in the wee hours… or…? Even suggesting this makes me bite my tongue… Gov’t agencies in it for the money and power MMS!

Have you ever had someone hand you back something you were sure,
you’d already lost ? ? ?

Side of a man, not many knew of

Elvis was another generous man. He paid off peoples homes, and for
some people he bought new homes. Some say he bought close a dozen
homes and 200 Cadillacs that he gave to friends, family, and total strangers.

OG: Thanks for that excellent story. It brought tears to my eyes!!

Reguarding Contra Costa County Controllers, have any home owners had any issues with them? I’m not a contractor or developer just a home owner who is curious and have had issues that make you go WHAT? Anybody else?

Ultimate experience for skilled crafts persons is working on building of a
LARGE project, say of this size, from the ground up and being able to
troubleshoot as it’s built.

I was gifted an Apple Card, which is good toward Apple products only, and I cannot use it. Amazon won’t take it, and the Apple store won’t reimburse for it (which I didn’t think they would). I don’t know any Apple users, and I don’t want it to go to waste. Other than giving it to the first person I see wearing white earbuds, any suggestions?

I took your suggestion, Dawg. They’re going to verify my card, take their share, and issue me a payment. The process was easy. Thank you very much! 🙂

I would give it to someone who enjoys Apple products. If you don’t know any Apple users, a random act of kindness to someone using an Apple product would be a win-win situation.

@Kentucky Derby
Yeah, I figured I’d just give it away to a stranger, and that would be fine. But then I read Dawg’s suggestion and I did that instead.

Hows about a 1998 Mark V SOC 82 ft Jet Boat collectors item.
Moving it cross country.

Would love to have it – I can make any engine work.
But who has the time?

I love that Claycord ad “No More Heavy Plastic Jugs At The Office”
LoL! Yes there are!
