The Contra Costa County Public Works Department’s Energy Management Team has received the Zero Emission Vehicle (ZEV) Readiness Award from the California New Motor Vehicle Board for its leadership in advancing clean transportation.
The award recognizes the county’s efforts to expand electric vehicle charging infrastructure, transition its fleet to zero-emission vehicles, improve public access to EV charging, and support workforce training through partnerships with local schools and the Contra Costa Community College District.
In other states when they get this the “smog test” is dropped from renewals. Washington does not require those at all. My old 1998 SUV passed the emissions test but not the onboard computer. Every other car in my neighborhood is either a hybrid or EV. Also seems that some of the EVs must’ve been leased and now traded in for a hybrid. When you can charge up an EV in 5 minutes (the same time on average to fill a tankful of gas) then they are worthwhile.
.
California has this attitude of being “the firstess with the mostess and the leader in the US”. Such is the reason for such unreasonable laws and expensive guvmint programs in this state. We are governed by spoiled brats.
.
BTW, the EPA wants to fix this because our rules are too impractical.
So, we have the California New Motor Vehicle Board, a government entity within a government entity (California State Transportation Agency), a government entity within a government entity (State of California), giving a MEANINGLESS WORTHLESS AWARD to the Contra Costa County Public Works Department Energy Management Team, a government entity within a government entity (Contra Costa County Public Works Department), a government entity within a government entity (Contra Costa County). THIS IS A STUPID WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY!!!!!!!!
So friggen stupid…. I have a 700hp vehicle that the hood sticker says it is smogged as a ULEV????? I guess we can say what we want to say and all of a sudden it’s magic and people believe it.
