Anyone else notice the decline in restaurants? Serving old cold food, and not following recipes?
If you let them know, they make excuses and never even try to fix things. They would rather you not come back than have to change things. Servers are untrained and impolite to patrons.
Hiring illegals to save money and most have no experience.
All the good restaurants closed down, thanks to Newsom and his handling of Covid.

Would you like to to serve tables? This is why the only option is to have “illegals” work these jobs! I know none of my “American” friends will do these type of jobs, well or any type of job really!

I know many who do and love it. One middle-age woman at my company who’s been a 30+ year employee and makes good money still waitresses on the side because she enjoys it and the money with tips is good. Daughter waitressed while going to university and loved it. Great money for a college student.
Now a question: What is with the quotation marks? Either someone is here legally or not. What is an “illegal”? Someone here legally posing as an illegal? What is an “American”?

You seem like a nice sweet sort. I doubt you have any real “American” (in quotes) friends, well or any type of friend really! Serving tables, whether at a diner on the highway with a sign that just says EATS or at the best place in town, can be, used to be and art form. People took pride in the job. Any job, really!
Single mom Wait-Jobs and Summer jobs that kids used to get to save up for school have been undercut by illegals who steal enough to make up for the benefits they can’t legally claim.
You want more? We can do this.

Try going out to eat at another location. Marin County has some excellent
restaurants with food prepared as you like. If you ask for a substitute, they
will make every effort to oblige you. The moment you walk through the door,
the hostess will greet you with a smile, and if you’ve been there before, they
will tell you how nice to see you again, and the wait staff will treat you like
you are special. Marin is a little further and with higher rent, the restaurants
can be a little pricey, but surprisingly not as pricey as one would expect.
It is worth the drive, and the extra few bucks it will cost you. Mill Valley,
Corte Madera, and Larkspur have nice restaurants, but with San Rafael
it can be a hit or miss. You can make a day out of it, and visit the Marin
Headlands, or take a drive up Mt Tamalpais. There’s also Muir Woods,
Point Reyes, Stinson Beach, and lots more to do in Marin.

Would be nice, but with the price of gas, it’s ot worth the drive. Marin is also more expensive…. bridge toll etc.

Has anyone else been experiencing salespeople wearing a hat that says Aptive showing up to your doorstep ignoring no soliciting signage and ringing and knocking repeatedly?

I swear that the “pest control” people are illiterate. They ignore our sign, as well, and when I finally answered their unrelenting knock, I asked the person knocking if he was “illiterate” and he didn’t know what that meant.

Pest: Knock Knock
Me:  Who’s there?
Pest: Illiterate
Me:  Illiterate Who?
Pest: Not me! My parents were married.

Ok, I’ll bite. I’m not first. I just came by early to unlock the door for Cowellian. Done. 🔓
Good Night. 🌜

It’s nice when you own your own business… you can be as late as you want!

Cowellian’s first.
I’m happy to see all of y’all here.

I walked into MOD Pizza last night on Ygnacio and Oak Grove. Two folks behind the counter greeted me as I walked in the door. As I got closer to the counter, the person making the pizzas had a huge hog ring in their nose. Yup. They are free to express themselves. Just as I was free to express myself. I turned around and walked out the door. Not everyone want’s to see that sort of self expression as someone is handling your food. Personally I find it disgusting. That’s why they lost my business last night, and perhaps why other folks don’t dine their either. I know I’m not alone. YMMV

If they do not take any pride in their appearance then they may not take
any pride in their work. The pizzeria owner is worse, if they don’t care
about a customer’s first impression, then they probably don’t care about
the quality of their pizza.

Killjoy, mileage does vary, but I’m with you on this one. You’re definitely not alone. I also agree with freedom of expression, but there’s a big difference between picking up our garbage cans in front of our home and handling food. Handling food skews the equation, and you will lose business.

I always try to make conversation, “Is that hog ring through your nose doctor’s orders or are you punishing your folks?”
It’s important to be interested and cordial.

Should have asked if it came with a LEASH

I am so stoked! Shucking corn is so messy I looked to Youtube for a better way
I saw this video & said “Bullcrap! that won’t work”, but I tried it and it did!
Corn was perfect no silk at all! I microwaved mine 3 minutes, squeezed the husk off & tossed the corn cobs in a pot of water & let ’em simmer till I was done bbq-ing the ribs.
Friggin amazing!

Her shirt made me laugh too.

Anyone else tired of the “Karen” calling? It is so overused. It reminds me of Jr High kids but it is grown adults using it.

I’d rather use the synonym for a female dog.

Dam?

2
1

No, really.
“In plain terms, “dam” refers to the female parent in a dog’s lineage, while “sire” denotes the male”

Dr. jelly,
Back when I was a single sailor, I had a roommate whose dog thought that was her first name.

I’m tired of it. I couldn’t care less about the interactions of others as long as it doesn’t affect me. And if you want to get upset with the grocery store manager, etc. it’s not on my radar screen. I prefer to focus on my own life.

Starting week with people being good

Heartwarming.

We participated in something similar in 2020. A family friend’s son had is 16th shortly after the Covid shut downs began. Nobody was allowed to mingle and everyone was on edge. The parents asked friends and family to drive by, wish him a happy birthday, and drop off presents. According to the mother, this birthday parade helped her son feel loved.
